Jakari Harris Jakari Harris AL is a dominant LB from Saraland who’s continued to pick up recruiting attention this offseason.
“You can tell right off the bat that Harris is a highly intelligent and instinctual defender on this Saraland defense. He reads and reacts to opposing offenses within milliseconds of the ball snapping, consistently flying to where the play is headed to disrupt and come up with stops.
Harris is a heat-seeking missile. He’s highly athletic, can make sideline-to-sideline plays, and has the tackling skills to ensure the ball carrier won’t gain any extra yards after he makes contact. Harris also has some impressive skills out in coverage and as a blitzer, making him an every-down threat to opposing offenses.“
Last week, Harris announced he’d picked up another offer, this time from Nicholls State!
Harris really showed why he’s ranked as one of our top Lbs in the state this past season. We all need to watch out for him this fall.

Harris is a true second-level eraser whose sideline-to-sideline range shows up immediately on film. His ability to trigger downhill with intent allows him to shut down windows before concepts can fully develop, consistently arriving with force rather than just speed. He routinely makes plays outside his original fit, turning what should be easy chain-moving gains into negative or minimal outcomes.
What elevates Harris is how seamlessly his instincts pair with his athletic profile. He diagnoses quickly, slips through traffic without allowing blockers to dictate the engagement, and shows the functional strength to finish through contact.

Harris brings sideline-to-sideline speed that pops instantly — rangy enough to make plays outside his initial fit, and explosive when triggering downhill. His instincts pair well with his play diagnosis, allowing him to arrive at the ball with intent and physicality.
Along with his speed Harris shows strength when sifting through blocks and not allowing blockers to dictate the engagement. Harris also shows comfort in zone drops, staying consistently near throwing lanes. He’s violent mover with tracking speed — built for modern linebacker play.

Harris has quietly stacked impressive performances over the last couple of weeks. The Pleasant Grove product delivered a big-time Week 2, compiling an impressive 15 tackles, 1 sack, and a forced fumble.
Harris simply will not be outworked — his motor jumps off the film. Against the run, he pursues the football with urgency, takes smart angles, and rarely gets caught out of position. He’s physical at the point of attack, sheds blocks when needed, and uses relentless effort to affect the quarterback and create second-chance sacks. Harris plays disciplined football and still finds ways to make impact plays.

68′ 01” SP, 78′ 08” JV, 33′ 03” discus (2024). Shorter, thickly built LB prospects. Even without elite sideline-to-sideline speed, he leverages the ball well. Impressive foot quickness. Good burst to contact. Engages blocks and ball carriers with some pop. Capable of stalling/driving piles. Calmly dissects and pieces himself around chaos. Strong presence in the middle of the defense who can greet ball carriers at the door with power. Holds D1 offers.
