Recruiting Report (4/27)- Recent News Across Alabama

We're back with a new Recruiting Report!   Today, we're diving into some recent recruiting news across the state. These prospects have had huge months, so we're diving into the latest surrounding their recruitment.   As always, make sure you watch their film below! You won't want to miss out on this kind of talent.    Michael Chobey is a disruptive edge from Huntsville who was one of the top pass rushers in the state this past season.   “Chobey is a dominant run defender- he's quick off the snap, has violent hands, and has the speed, leverage, and strength to consistently work around OL and get to the ball carrier for stops. Chobey plays with relentless effort and is a reliable tackler who makes a lot of impressive plays in pursuit, sometimes working from across the field to make plays.   On passing downs, Chobey has similar success. He's an efficient pass rusher who generates tons of pressure, forces bad decisions, and racks up sacks nearly every time the quarterback drops back.“   Last week, Chobey announced he'd picked up a new offer, this time from Austin Peay!   Chobey has made a huge impact on Huntsville's defense the last two seasons. I won't be surprised if more teams reach out with offers soon. He has a ton of talent and skill that will translate at the next level.      Jamaine Lewis is a dominant DL from Hueytown who has gathered a lot of traction on the recruiting trail this month.   “Lewis is a big dude who plays with some really impressive speed. He causes problems down the line of scrimmage and makes offenses work to do anything against him. Lewis has excellent pursuit skills; he makes some highlight reel sideline-to-sideline plays- it's seriously impressive watching him hunt down the ball carrier at his size.   Lewis is also terrific at holding his own in the trenches- he fights off blocks and completely dominates the OL across from him, consistently generating great penetration on the LOS. Lewis might be one of the top run defenders in our 2027 class. He causes so much trouble with how well he controls and dominates the line.“   In the last week, Lewis has picked up new offers from both Arkansas State and Austin Peay.   I think there's a ton to be excited about with Lewis' senior season and career at the next level. He's been highly productive for Hueytown's defense and has a big final season ahead. We all need to watch out for him this fall.      Camaree Gooden is a talented ATH from Gardendale who's starting to see his name get out there more.   "Gooden is a physical outside corner who finds ways to come up with stops against the run and pass nearly every down. Gooden is excellent at quickly identifying and reacting to plays, he consistently puts himself in great position to help his defense make plays. Against the run, Gooden is terrific in pursuit and quickly closes in on RBs to make tackles for little to no gain.   Gooden is even more dominant against the pass- he has a knack for getting his hands on the ball and jarring free passes from WRs. It's seriously impressive watching him in coverage; he's a physical DB who dominates in man-to-man and consistently wears down WRs to make huge plays on the ball."   Last week, Gooden announced he'd picked up his first offer from North Alabama!   With his talent, I'm sure more offers will head Gooden's way soon. He's a talented player who's contributed a ton to Gardendale the last two seasons. Take a look at his film below:      Paul Kyles is an uber-talented 2030 from Daphne who's already impressed some of the top programs in the nation after his season last fall.   "I think I need to see some ID, cause there's absolutely no way Trey Kyles is in middle school. Kyles is already an incredibly well-rounded EDGE that can cause terror every snap. He explodes off the snap and has incredible speed, power, and leverage that he uses to set the edge and stop the run at a high level.   On top of that, Kyles has shown he's a natural at rushing the passer. It's near impossible to keep this kid out of the backfield. He already has a ton of different moves he uses to lose OTs in the dust and get to the QB. I can't wait to see him develop. Kyles has an incredibly bright future ahead."   Kyles added a huge offer to his list this past week, picking one up from Alabama!   I think Kyles will end up as one of the top national recruits in his class. He's unbelievably talented and has produced at a high level before he's even gotten to high school. There's a ton to look forward to with this young man's future.      Eli King is a talented DB from Thompson who really emerged as a star in his class this past season.   King has great instincts, is quick to react, and has great closing speed that he uses to fly around the field and make plays in the secondary. He's fantastic in coverage, timing up huge plays on the ball to create PBUs/INTs. King is an impressive run defender; he's a physical DB who can fight off blocks, pursue, and take down the ball carrier with ease."   King has seen his recruitment heat up a ton this past week, adding new offers from SMU, Arkansas State and Kentucky!   I think King is set up for a huge junior year this upcoming fall. He and Thompson's secondary have a ton of talent we'll have to watch for here in a few months. In the meantime, be sure to check out some of his film below:
