There wasn't many defenders that could keep up with Bryar in the 11AA state championship game as he was close to unstoppable logging just under 10 yards per carry on 26 carries for 225 rushing yards on two touchdowns. He was by far the most durable running back I watched during the entire Dakota Bowl XXXIII as I would love to know what his yards after contact number turned out to be. Another intriguing skillset that Bryar brought to the table, is just how sudden he was for his size getting out of that contact. At 6'0 205 pounds, he had more torque with his get out than we expected. He surely was a hidden gem I would sure get after if I was looking to improve your RB room.

Another hidden gem that we learned about out of Devils Lake this time in the 2027 class was wide receiver Will Heilman. He caught anything and everything that came his way and was especially problematic in the open field in the end logging six receptions for a 168 receiving yards and three touchdowns in Devils Lake's first state championship. I was really impressed with the consistency of Will's vision after the catch. He is one I hope to see his season tape pop out after the season cause he could be an intriguing add to our 2027 rankings.

Leading the Sentinels offense in touchdowns and was also a two-way athlete we featured in our linebacker group was [player_tooltip player_id='929929' first='Christian' last='Deadmond'] of Minot North. Christian in the live eval was more than efficent in small spaces with his vision especially when he got Minot North got in the red zone, Christian was certainly a key component to thier offense. He is surely a North Dakota athlete that needs more D2 traction in my eyes as he by far was one of the best ones I saw in the games from Friday in the FargoDome.

Cooper was just outside that 100 yard rush mark in the 11AA state championship, and has been a RB prospect that has come alive for the Sentinels as a junior. For his size, he not only is fluid is small space but he also appears much more durable than you might expect for a 5'7 170 pound running back. He is one that I feel can boost more explosiveness off contact based off what the tape shows heading into his senior season.

Evan was the pounder deep inside the redzone when the Sentinels needed a spark from their 2026 fullback. He certainly got some of the most blue-collar yards for their offense that were the hardest yards to get. Evan is another one out of this list from Minot North that could use more NSIC attention in my eyes at either offensive or defensive spot as a prospect on their way up our rankings.

Ryland is a running back prospect that you won't find much tape on from the season, but he's one that during the live eval sparked for the Fargo Davies powerful rushing attack. He made splash run after splash run and was super effective as an east-west runner in the 11AAA state championship game. He only needed 8 carries for 163 yards rushing on two touchdowns as it felt that every time Ryland had a shot in the open field he took full advantage of it.

Zavion was the biggest spark the Patriots had in their receiving core last Friday night as another 2026 prospect on this list that I feel is deserving of more attention. You can't miss on the size that is for sure, but also the athleticism that Zavion has his disposal around the ball is something you might want on your roster. He also showed off the excellent length he has with his lower body as far as his striding ability and has the hands to get the ball out of nowhere like he showed on his 80-yard touchdown reception (that I wish I didn't miss) after seeing the tape. I think Zavion is way under the radar in what is a solid wide receiver class amongst North Dakota 2026s.

Just yesterday, Kolten took home the North Dakota MaxPreps Player of the Year as he was the top back that was running wild between the tackles of the mauling Eagles offensive line in the 11AAA state championship game. What really stood out for me watching Kolten on the offensive side of the ball is how little space he needed to explode between the tackles. Getting to watch running backs all day, I don't think there was one running back that needed a smaller window to explode thru than Kolten had last Friday. He tallied for 214 rushing yards on just 12 carries, leading the day in yards per carry against the pack of running backs in each of the four state championship games. If there is a 2026 prospect I expect to blow up in the coming months, Kolten is one of the top ones I see on my North Dakota list.
