Another stockriser from the running back group on Saturday at our Prep Redzone Dakotas Showcase on Saturday in Sioux Falls, making the 7-hour drive one-way from Minot was Minot North’s Cooper Chick Cooper Chick 5'7" | 185 lbs | RB Minot North | 2027 State ND . The Sentinels are loaded at the running back group looking ahead at the upcoming 2026 season and the frame that has grown in the weight room from Cooper even since last winter’s showcase is evident. The 5’7 181 pounder, was second in our entire showcase with a 4.69 40-yard dash on lasers which has grown since last showcase, and another testing area of development for Cooper aligns with his broad jump which he showed off his explosiveness with a 8’11 broad jump on Saturday. Cooper already has shown he has intriguing vision but based on what I saw on Saturday, he took a leap upwards based on the reps I got to watch. Surely a scholarship-level RB in my eyes out of Minot North that should be a good fit at the D2 level.

Minot North is going to be a backfield I will be watching closely in the 2026 season as Cooper Chick Cooper Chick 5'7" | 185 lbs | RB Minot North | 2027 State ND is back for more as our RB6 in the 2027 North Dakota class. He’s one that I can tell quickly has a great football IQ, as when his holes open he’s proactive with his fluid speed to take it the distance. The 5’7 170 pounder is an intriguing one when it comes to getting of contact, as I feel Cooper is one that is doesn’t lose any of his burst when running downhill, something you don’t expect with a running back with his measurables. Cooper is one that his game-speed does the talking in my eyes more than a 40-yard dash will tell you.

Cooper was just outside that 100 yard rush mark in the 11AA state championship, and has been a RB prospect that has come alive for the Sentinels as a junior. For his size, he not only is fluid is small space but he also appears much more durable than you might expect for a 5’7 170 pound running back. He is one that I feel can boost more explosiveness off contact based off what the tape shows heading into his senior season.

A 2027 running back that keeps emerging out of Minot in his junior season has been Minot North’s Cooper Chick Cooper Chick 5'7" | 185 lbs | RB Minot North | 2027 State ND . Cooper boosts the patience that intrigues me prior to hitting the gap and once he hits the gap the consistency of utilizing his change of direction has gotten better from regular season start to regular season end. The suddenness that is there with his straight-line burst stuck a chord on film this week as I would love get some testing numbers on this young man this winter at our Prep Redzone Dakotas Showcase. Surely one of a couple 2027 RBs out of the Minot Area, that need to get on our North Dakota board!
