The NDSU football commit was pound for pound, one of the best running backs we saw out of the early Dakota Bowl games last Friday, We saw even more amounts of durablity in this year's state championship game coming from Gunner as he logged just about 100 rushing yards for the Loboes in the 9-man state championship game. Gunner's downhill running ability could accelerate at an even faster rate from a year ago as the splash plays were on point on Friday morning. Will be intrigued to see this future Bison and how his athleticism is utilized at NDSU over the next 4-5 years.

Grant was one you probably just saw on our defensive back standouts list, as this athlete was probably even more impactful on the offensive side of the ball. He logged 9 receptions for 167 receiving yards. If you needed yards after contact or after the catch on Friday morning, Grant was going to give you what you needed as he really popped out over the middle of the field with his durability. The 5'11 170 pounder, could stretch the middle of the field well for his size and I thought we saw more length than we expect to see on Friday. Can't find on Twitter, but surely worth a look to play college ball.

We saw double-digit receptions in the 9-man state championship game coming from 2027 prospect Thomas Allmuras, who was the most intresting skill player live eval I had on the day. The 5'8 150 pounder, was a problem for the secondary especially in the red zone as you could tell that this kid is a good route-runner that can gather some seperation. He showed it on muliple occasions in our live eval, as one that was versatile in his route-running and could burn over the top or underneath and surely had great hands to show off for his size. Thomas is an under the radar wide receiver that I can't find on Twitter, that I would love to get at our PRZ Dakotas Showcase coming up.

We were able to get a live eval on our TE1 in the North Dakota 2029 class which is LaMoure-Litchville-Marion's [player_tooltip player_id='1745589' first='Owen' last='DeLaBarre'] who caught our attention at NDSU this summer at camp. The now 6'2 210 pounder, has gotten taller since our last 2029 rankings update, and his skillsets look more polished across the board. He showed off to be more fluid as a route-runner and I was impressed with his upside I saw especially as a run and pass blocker. Our TE groups in North Dakota is usually a small group, but the fact that Owen is showing versatile skillsets as a freshmen in a state championship game is surely encouraging.

Another 2026 prospect that could be a good small school for NAIA schools in the Dakotas, is Landen Solberg out of Bottineau. The 6'3 170 pounder by far was the top pass-catcher for the Braves passing offense as Landen went for 8 receptions and 154 receiving yards and was a huge threat over the middle of the field. He was also well-versed in high traffic areas with his hands and caught nearly every ball that came his way and was constantly fighting to get it even if off his line. In my eyes: Landen might be one of the bigger sleepers we learned about out of this WR group with no football tape weirdly enough.

I love the Dakota Bowl due to all the new names we learn about, as another wide receiver from Bottineau that was a new name was Landyn Grant in the 2027 class for the Braves. Much like the 9-man final, Landyn was another undersized wide receiver that left quite the impact primarility as a slot receiver. He had a jaw-dropping catch in my opinion in this game, in which he fought for the ball with a bigger defensive back over the middle of the field and overpowered him and made the key reception for the Braves offense. Love this kids high traffic hands for his age. Another under the radar WR I would love to see at our PRZ Dakotas Showcase.

A new name that consistently caught my radar in the 11A state championship game was 2028 athlete [player_tooltip player_id='2056059' first='Eastyn' last='Schaefer']. He caught the eye test with his size as the 6'3 175 pounder, also led the Cardinals in touchdown receptions in the 11A state championship game. His balance as an athlete for that size on both sides of the ball was evident and he was one of the more sizable new names that we got on our radar overall at Dakota Bowl XXXIII. Long strider that I would love to see the highlight tape pop out from this season as all he has at the moment is hoops tape. I like the upside Eastyn can boost a lot over the coming years.

Theo is yet another Cardinal athlete that you had to see in the 11A state championship game to get a live eval on as there isn't much tape out there on him. Obviously the Romfo last name runs deep in Langdon, so I have gotten a slight grasp of what this young man brought to the table but we saw most of it at the FargoDome. The 6'3 230 pounder is a tight end that I feel could play at the next-level, especially after seeing how sudden he was after the catch on his receiving touchdown and the athleticism peaked on other areas of the field as well. He was one that had good fluidity as a route-runner and had violent intentions as a blocker from what I watched on Friday.
