Section V Class A1 Playoff Preview

<p>Section V Class A, hosts 17 teams, forcing an extra week of playoffs. This weekend, 16 teams will battle, as they look to move to the Semi Finals of the Class A1 tournament. Irondequoit has scored over 20 points all game this season, and have only one win by 9 or less points. Irondequoit is led by QB [player_tooltip player_id='1328878' first='Eric' last='Torres'], and WR [player_tooltip player_id='1513226' first='Josh' last='Barr'] on offense. He has over 700 yards, and eleven total touchdowns, through the air and ground this season. Torres getting into a rhythm, and firing against a solid Spencerport team will be the difference maker for Irondequoit.</p>    <h2 class="wp-block-heading">Key To The Game</h2>   <ul class="wp-block-list"> <li><strong>WR Play</strong>: [player_tooltip player_id='1513226' first='Josh' last='Barr'], has been a bright spot in the receiving department for the Eagles. His connection with QB [player_tooltip player_id='1328878' first='Eric' last='Torres'], has led to an outstanding passing game and the Eagles claiming the number one seed. A Key to winning this game, is to get the ball to their star WR. </li> </ul>   <h2 class="wp-block-heading">Spencerport Breakdown</h2>   <p>After starting off the season, 2-0 with wins against Greece Olympia, and Penfield, the Rangers lost five straight Section matchups, and fell to the final spot in the playoffs, earring 26 points this season. Priester is a leader for the Rangers, and will need to have the game of this life, against an offense that has pounded the rock and attacked through the air, while averaging over 24 points this season. </p>    <h2 class="wp-block-heading">Key To The Game</h2>   <ul class="wp-block-list"> <li><strong>Defense:</strong> As mentioned earlier, defense is extremely important. The Eagles have multiple running backs who can take off for long runs, and through the air have a star WR, who can break free of defenders. Stopping both the run and passing game, and getting off the field on third down is major for the Rangers if they want to win this game. </li> </ul>   <h2 class="wp-block-heading">Game Prediction</h2>   <p>I have Irondequoit winning this game <strong>35-13</strong>. I think the Eagles offense, is too much to handle, and this will propel them through to the Semi-Finals. </p>   <hr class="wp-block-separator has-alpha-channel-opacity" />   <h2 class="wp-block-heading">#4 Brighton Vs #5 Churchville-Chili</h2>   <p>Both Brighton and Churchville-Chili, are tied with points on the season. Brighton gained the tiebreaker, and home field advantage due to more ten point wins. Sitting at 5-2 this season, the Bruins have two loses, one to Hilton, and one to #6 Webster Schroeder. The Brighton pass rusher, will be the leader of the defense, which is 0-2, when allowing 20 or more points this season. Loom for Heininger, to have a major impact on the outcome of this game. </p>    <h2 class="wp-block-heading">Key To The Game</h2>   <p><strong>Defense:</strong> When allowing 20 or more points, this Defense is 0-2 on the season. Over seven games this season, the Saints offense has scored 20 or more points in each game. Limiting the opportunities for Churchville-Chili, and getting off the field on 3rd-down, is a huge key in Brighton moving past the first round. </p>   <h2 class="wp-block-heading">Churchville-Chili Breakdown</h2>   <p>The Saints, also sit at 5-2 on the season, and fell short of home field advantage, due to the point system in Section V. Churchville-Chili, has scored over twenty points in each game this season, and is undefeated on the road this season. The Churchville-Chili star, has led this offense to over 20 points per game in 7/7 games this season. Mikey has a tough task against a good Brighton Defense, and playing at the top of his game, is a huge key to the Saints winning. </p>    <h2 class="wp-block-heading">Key To The Game</h2>   <ul class="wp-block-list"> <li><strong>Scoring</strong>: This Saints offense, has one of the best offenses in the Section this season. Scoring over 20 points a game, and playing difficult defenses has made them battle tested. The Saints need to continue their offensive onslaught, in order to win this game. </li> </ul>   <h2 class="wp-block-heading">Game Prediction</h2>   <p>I have Brighton overcoming the strong Saints offense. Brighton is undefeated at home, while Churchville-Chili is undefeated on the road. I think this is a close <strong>31-23</strong> game, with both teams fighting till the final whistle. </p>   <hr class="wp-block-separator has-alpha-channel-opacity" />   <h2 class="wp-block-heading">#3 Hilton Vs #6 Webster Schroeder </h2>   <p>The Cadets started off the season, with two straight losses to Webster Schroeder, and Webster Thomas. Since Week Two, they have won five straight, finishing with a 5-2 record in 2025, and ending the season, with three close, and quality wins over Brighton, Aquinas Institute, and Victor. In his Junior Season, he is putting together a solid campaign, leading his Cadets to a 5-2 record. Only two games this season, has seen the Cadets score 14 or less points, and Kosiorek, is a big factor in Hilton moving to the Semi-Finals. </p>    <h2 class="wp-block-heading">Key To The Game</h2>   <ul class="wp-block-list"> <li><strong>Revenge</strong>: Both teams have faced off this season, with the Cadets falling short to Webster Schroeder. Fixing the mistakes, and moving forward is huge if Hilton wants to win this game. </li> </ul>   <h2 class="wp-block-heading">Webster Schroeder Breakdown</h2>   <p>Webster Schroeder finished their season, with a 4-3 record, claiming the 6th seed in the A1 playoff bracket. The Warriors started the season off with three loses against Victor, Pittsford, and Webster Thomas, and have won four straight games, including a win against #4 seed Brighton. The Senior ATH, can play on both sides off the ball, but will have his true impact, as a RB against Hilton. With Rinaldi in the backfield, the Warriors have pushed a successful running game. If Rinaldi gets going, the game will end with Webster Schroeder moving on. </p>    <h2 class="wp-block-heading">Key To The Game</h2>   <ul class="wp-block-list"> <li><strong>Run Game</strong>: Ricky Rinaldi, has propelled this Warriors offense to multiple wins this season. In a big playoff matchup, using his legs, and feeding their star player the ball, will see success for Webster Schroeder. </li> </ul>   <h2 class="wp-block-heading">Game Prediction</h2>   <p>I have my first playoff upset. Both teams faced off in a scrimmage where Hilton fell short to the Warriors. In the first real matchup between the teams, I have a <strong>24-21</strong> Webster Schroeder win, on the back of a late touchdown, giving us the first upset in Section V Class A.</p>   <hr class="wp-block-separator has-alpha-channel-opacity" />   <h2 class="wp-block-heading">#2 Webster Thomas Vs #7 Victor</h2>   <p>Webster Thomas started out the season, with a loss to Brighton 30-14. The Titans proceed to win six straight wins, including Webster Schroeder, Fairport, Victor, and Spencerport. In wins, 27 points is the least this offense has scored, and they have won their six games by ten points or more. </p>   <h2 class="wp-block-heading">Warriors To Watch</h2>   <figure class="wp-block-table"><table class="has-fixed-layout"><tbody><tr><td><strong>2026 TE Nick Adams</strong></td></tr><tr><td><strong>2026 QB Samuel Davis </strong></td></tr><tr><td><strong>2026 OL [player_tooltip player_id='1216043' first='Bryce' last='Henry']</strong></td></tr></tbody></table></figure>   <h2 class="wp-block-heading">X-Factor</h2>    <p class="text-gray-700">The Senior QB, has led this Webster Thomas team, to an impressive 6-1 record through 2025. Following a 4-5 record last season, and a first round playoff exit, the Titans QB, who has had an impressive season, will need to play his best game, against a hungry Victor team who won this game last season. </p>    <h2 class="wp-block-heading">Key To The Game</h2>   <ul class="wp-block-list"> <li><strong>Revenge</strong>: The returning playmakers on this squad, have a sour taste in their mouths from the loss to Victor in the first round of the playoffs last season. The key to this game, will be remembering the loss to last season, and playing Titan football, which will lead the Titans to the Semi-Finals. </li> </ul>   <h2 class="wp-block-heading">Victor Breakdown</h2>   <p>Victor finished the season 3-4, claiming the #7 seed in the playoffs, and a road matchup against a familiar foe. The Blue Devils, started off the season with a loss against Pittsofrd, and backed that up with a win against Webster Schroeder. They picked up two more wins against Greece Olympia/Odyssey, and Spencerport. Ramos has put together, a solid 2025 campaign, and his leadership on the Defensive side of the ball, and has helped this defense allow more then 30 points once. In wins Victor's defense is unstoppable, and guys like [player_tooltip player_id='1685742' first='Gage' last='Ramos'], will be major X-Factors, in this playoff game. </p>    <h2 class="wp-block-heading">Key To The Game</h2>   <ul class="wp-block-list"> <li><strong>Score:</strong> It seems simple right? While the defense for Victor will be a major factor, so will scoring. In games, where the offense scores 20 or more points, the Blue Devils are 3-1. They lost 26-13 in round one against Webster Thomas, and fixing those mistakes, while scoring will be huge in this game. </li> </ul>   <h2 class="wp-block-heading">Game Prediction</h2>   <p>Victor has a solid team, and as an underdog last season made a run in the playoffs. These two teams have played this season, and with Webster Thomas winning, I see the Warriors going 2-0 against Victor this season, and moving onto the Semi-Finals. I see a <strong>31-21</strong> score with Webster Thomas on top. </p>
