The Class of 2027 rankings are in dire need of an update. The 2025 season has answered a lot of questions for us, especially regarding the quarterback position. I've spent a ton of time trying to get a good handle on all of the top QBs in the class of 2027, and there have been a few that have outperformed expectations. Here are four QBs who I'm considering for that #1 spot, and one more who I think is a major sleeper.

Wynn has been extremely impressive so far this season. When I scouted him against Mt. Pleasant, I was incredibly impressed with his accuracy and the way he saw the field. In a day when the run game couldn't do anything, Wynn stepped up and gave his team a chance with his arm.

Through six games, Wynn has a 74.84 completion percentage, 1659 passing yards, and 17TDs. I know stats don't nearly paint the full picture, but you have to admit that these stats are incredibly impressive.

Wynn looks like he's playing 7on7 out there. That is a huge compliment. Most QBs I watch look much worse in the fall than they do in the spring or summer. The fact of the matter is that the bright Friday Night Lights and the addition of defensive linemen trying to sack you is far different than a run-of-the-mill 7on7 in March. Wynn, on the other hand, is on par with his offseason performances. Doesn't look phased by any situation, and takes the game one play at a time. He scans the field and goes through his progressions much better than most QBs, and rarely throws an uncatchable pass.

I'm very curious to see how Wynn performs this postseason. I'm hoping Dow makes a run so we can see Wynn perform against elite competition. I'm very much considering Wynn as QB1.

I've gotten two great looks at Duke this season. Against St. Mary's, I was neither impressed nor disappointed. I thought Duke did a good job managing the game, and he had some bright spots plus some mistakes.

Against Brother Rice, Duke was in an excellent rhythm all game. The deep ball was clicking, just like it did against OLSM. Plus, Duke had a few great off-platform throws, in addition to excellent pocket presence. The pocket presence is especially impressive, as that's an area most high school QBs struggle mightily.

Duke seems smart, poised, and up to the tall task of leading the DCC offense. I am highly considering Duke as QB1 in this class, and he's absolutely the #1 Catholic League QB in the class of 2027.

Alex was my first QB evaluation of the season, and he impressed. I've said it a lot, but Alex is a completely different QB this year than he was last year. Against Belleville this season, Alex picked apart the Tigers' defense and was mostly accurate, but not perfect in terms of placement or timing.

He was laser-focused all game, watched tape after every drive, and led by example. I will need to watch at least one more game on tape to get a more confident evaluation, but I am considering ranking Alex as QB1.

I'm looking forward to watching Braylon face off against Grand Rapids Catholic Central next week. No matter what, he's rising in the rankings. I'm even considering placing him at #1. Right now, he's hovering around QB5.

For one, Northview airs it out a lot. Through the first four weeks, Braylon had 96 pass attempts. Only looking at highlights, it's obvious that Braylon is able to complete any throw in any situation. There are a few (like the post against Sparta) that are sensational. I also know that Braylon has had some clutch moments this season, which is something that I genuinely value.

I also watched Braylon a few times this past summer, which helps. I know he's got the mechanics down, I know he's got a rocket arm, and so far, he's outperformed my expectations for the season. I do question Braylon's efficiency, and I'll have to dive deeper into the tape to get a better idea of his IQ. I know I'll be ranking Braylon higher than QB11- I just have a little more homework to do.

While I'm not considering Jack for the #1 spot, I do think he's the most fascinating prospect in this class.
He may be the most accurate QB in this class. Right now, he has the highest accuracy rating on my 2027 prospect spreadsheet. Watching Jack's highlights and his game against Lawton (plus all of my prior viewings in years past), it seems like Jack can hit his receivers in his sleep. It's insane how many of his throws are flawlessly in stride and on-time. Go's, outs, digs, post, you name the route, and I almost garuntee that Jack will put it on the money 9 times out of 10.

Jack is susceptible to ugly INTs, where he doesn't properly read the defense before ripping it to his first read. Plus, I am grading Jack on a bit of a curve because of the strength of schedule. There's a LOT to love about Jack's game, but some major question marks as well.

Jack reminds me a lot of Cade Peterson, who came out of Maple City Glen Lake (D8) back in 2018. Cade went on to play 48 games for Grand Valley State, passing for 7231 yards and 67 career TDs.
