In the end, Nathan had posted 28 carries, 211 rushing yards, five receptions, 140 receiving yards, three rushing touchdowns, and a receiving touchdown. Watching Nathan, my one thought was, "this guy just doesn't stop," as he seemed to get more juiced up as the game progressed. Nathan's physical running style and strong 6'0" 190-pound frame took its toll on the opposing defense as he started breaking bigger runs. He plays with great balance and footwork, which allows him to keep himself upright as he fights through would-be tackles. He's not a super shifty back, but he does possess the ability to find his cut and go with breakaway speed. Great receiving target who can make catches out of the backfield and then turn upfield to spring free for some YAC. Axmann already has some college programs interested in him, but he should see his recruitment take off as he leads the Vikings on their projected deep playoff run.

Notable Standouts:

[player_tooltip player_id='1085095' first='Brockston' last='Teply'], 2027 - QB - 6'4" 205 lbs - (@brockstonteply1)

The first year with Waverly has been a success so far for junior QB [player_tooltip player_id='1085095' first='Brockston' last='Teply'], who has continued to step up week in and week out, and the Norris game was no different. Teply completed 16/27 of his pass attempts for 374 yards and three touchdowns, as well as a few hiccups with two interceptions. For the most part, Brockston looks the part right off the bat, standing at 6'4" and 205 pounds, which will surely draw the attention of recruiters. Teply projects well as a pocket passer who can stand tall and deliver strikes while maneuvering the pocket. He has a strong arm that can rifle throws downfield with ease. Watching some of his dropbacks, you can see improvement in his footwork and timing, allowing him to make quicker, more accurate throws. Massive upside with a whole offseason to continue making strides... buy stock NOW!!

[player_tooltip player_id='1192420' first='Gavin' last='McMillan'], 2027 - DB - 6'1" 185 lbs - (@GavinMcMillan20)

New number, new position, same high-level play from junior [player_tooltip player_id='1192420' first='Gavin' last='McMillan']. Moving over from cornerback to safety seems to be paying off very well for McMillan and the Vikings, as he's now able to cover more ground and be involved in more plays. This was especially clear in the run game, where Gavin's twitchy trigger and speed allow him to break downhill in a flash when he reads the run. Where McMillan really impressed was in coverage, where he recorded three interceptions. McMillan's football IQ and great instincts make him effective at reading QBs, putting him in a position to make a play. His bigger frame at 6'1", 185 pounds allows him to contest passes at the catch point and has shown the ball skills to snag it for the takeaway. It looks like college coaches are starting to take notice... won't be long before the offers start rolling in!

[player_tooltip player_id='488221' first='Brady' last='Schieffer'], 2026 - TE/ATH - 6'5" 215 lbs - (@bschieffer12)

[player_tooltip player_id='488221' first='Brady' last='Schieffer'] is a deep sleeper in this '26 recruiting cycle and one who could see himself earn some more looks at the end of the season. Brady showed out on offense with three catches for 112 yards and a receiving touchdown, and he was a dominant presence on the defensive side of the ball. Offensively, he is a difficult player to match up against with his 6'5", 215-pound frame that is too big for smaller DBs, and he has the athleticism to beat LBs in coverage. He's very underrated when it comes to getting open, as he can do enough to spring free on underneath routes. Schieffer is also an effective blocker who can help seal off second-level defenders in the run game. Defensively, Brady is an effective edge/OLB with a well-rounded skill set, including pass-rushing, setting the edge, and covering RBs out of the backfield. He does a good job getting off the ball and can use that quick first step to build up the power in his initial punch.

[player_tooltip player_id='1202050' first='Max' last='Leininger'], 2026 - LB - 6'0" 210 lbs - (@maxleininger56)

From an outside perspective, it really felt like the defense rallied around senior LB [player_tooltip player_id='1202050' first='Max' last='Leininger'], and with good reason, as he seemed to be in the mix for several stops throughout the night. Leininger does a great job reading his keys and can react to them in a flash. He can plant and drive downhill, filling in gaps and stopping RBs if he meets them in the hole. Leininger can also flip his hips and drop into coverage as he looks to pick up any crossing receivers and can get downhill quickly to sniff out screens. Very physical at the point of attack, using great power and tackling technique to ensure the takedown. Team leader with proven production and experience, make sure this guy is on your '26 board.

Make sure to follow @PRZ_OscarG for more news on Nebraska and Iowa HS recruiting.
