5. Canisius (Last Week, 7)

After starting the season of 1-2, the Crusaders have roared back to a 3-2 record through five games. In their Week Five match against Bishop Timon St. Jude, Canisius picked up a monster 56-7 win. Canisius moves up the rankings, due to a huge win against a quality League opponent. Canisius, and St. Francis are the two top teams in the Monsignor Martin League. With three games remaining till the two matchup, I see Canisius entering with a 6-2 record. The two loses on their record, are also against quality out of state opponents. If the Crusaders finish the in-state portion undefeated, they will be amongst the top teams in the state.

4. Rye (Last Week, 3)

Rye falls one spot on the Power Rankings. The Garnets remain undefeated, as they carve through their Section One Schedule. The Garnets took down Somers, who has found their rhythm, and picked up huge wins against Clarkstown North, and Yorktown. I view Rye as the top team in Rockland County, and with three games remaining on the schedule, I see an undefeated season. The duo of [player_tooltip player_id='1229592' first='Carson' last='Miller'], and [player_tooltip player_id='1529592' first='Henry' last='Shoemaker'], gives the Garnets a top offense in the Hudson Valley.

3. Monsignor Farrell (Last Week, 5)

The Lions are a top two team in the Catholic League. [player_tooltip player_id='1283757' first='Bryce' last='Moye'], [player_tooltip player_id='277164' first='Gianni' last='Pasqualone'], [player_tooltip player_id='805722' first='Kevin' last='Gumb Jr'], [player_tooltip player_id='1278754' first='Braxton' last='Moye'], and defensive prospects, like [player_tooltip player_id='1397417' first='Cole' last='Savino'], have combined to give Monsignor Farrell, and Coach Del Priore a 5-1 record. The lone loss is to out of state Delbarton in a 35-0 loss. In their matchup Friday against Fordham Prep, the Lions forced a running clock after halftime in a dominant 42-14 victory against a tough Catholic League opponent. The team they played, and the score propels them ahead of Rye. A bye week awaits the Lions where they can expect to fall off the list, due to not having a game. Iona Prep, and Monsignor Farrell matchup shortly, in a game that will decide the top team in the Catholic League.

2. CBA-Syracuse (Last Week, 2)

CBA-Syracuse, stays at #2 in the power rankings, following another win. The Brothers sit at 4-0 on the season, and through 20 quarters of football have allowed 37 points. CBA-Syracuse, started out with two wins against two tricky opponents in Whitesboro, and CBA-Albany. The previous two matchups against West Genesee and Baldwinsville, kicked off Section Three play for the Brother's where they continue to plow through their opponents. In week five the Brothers carved through a solid Proctor team 49-14. CBA-Syracuse is easily the top team in the Syracuse region, and due to their continued success following a state title last season, they are easily a top team in the state and find themselves uncontested throughout the first half of the season.

1. Iona Prep (Last Week, 1)

Ranking Iona Prep first might actually be disrespectful. The Gaels dismantled [player_tooltip player_id='425629' first='Xavier' last='Bala'], and a solid St. Anthony's offense. In a back and forth game, [player_tooltip player_id='735876' first='Julian' last='Guzman'], [player_tooltip player_id='1624499' first='Joe' last='Wolf'], and [player_tooltip player_id='1001144' first='Crew' last='Davis'], helped the offense put up 50 points against their Catholic League opponent. The Gaels have serious D1 talent on their roster, like [player_tooltip player_id='741078' first='Mamadee' last='Sangaray'], [player_tooltip player_id='735876' first='Julian' last='Guzman'], [player_tooltip player_id='1355476' first='Dilen' last='Mulaj'], and other players across the boards. If there is one team I would not want to face this season, it is the Gaels of Iona Prep.
