I recently started my new player series, looking at breakout players for every position, regardless of classification or age.

We've done two positions, but now it's time to check out five wide receivers who are having great seasons in 2025.

This was a fun group to assemble, with multiple freshmen making the list by having outstanding seasons, while three upperclassmen have proven themselves to be true Division I players.

Let's get into it.

2026 WR [player_tooltip player_id='1300097' first='Kaiden' last='Dewey'] – Baylor School

Baylor's [player_tooltip player_id='1300097' first='Kaiden' last='Dewey'] continues to go under the radar, regardless of how he constantly produces for the top team in Tennessee. He's built like a slot receiver, but can be used all over the field as a gadget guy.

He is swift and elusive, making him a perfect player to use on screens, sweeps, short routes, etc. Dewey isn't just good for the quick game; he can take the top off defenses, too.

The senior isn't the biggest receiver, but he has a high motor and is a complete player who can do anything a coach would want.

Sometimes he gets outshined by guys like [player_tooltip player_id='1210671' first='David' last='Gabriel-Georges'] and [player_tooltip player_id='222957' first='Briggs' last='Cherry'], but Dewey is Baylor's leading receiver.

2029 WR [player_tooltip player_id='1538130' first='Luke' last='Tritch'] – Riverdale

Riverdale wide receiver [player_tooltip player_id='1538130' first='Luke' last='Tritch'] has been a pleasant surprise this season. Everybody knew he had the talent to be one of the top weapons in the state, but I'm not sure that anybody expected him to be this productive.

In seven games this season, Tritch has caught 31 passes for 454 yards and four touchdowns in TSSAA 6A, one of the toughest classifications in the state.

He has solid size for a freshman, standing at 5-foot-11 and weighing 170 pounds, with the frame to add good weight.

Tritch mainly plays in the slot, where he's excelled. He features outstanding hands, good route running and the ability to make himself open by finding holes in coverage.

The 2029 player has already established himself as one of the top players in Tennessee, and I'm excited to see how he develops throughout high school.

Photo: WR [player_tooltip player_id='966033' first='Brandon' last='Goliday'].

2026 WR [player_tooltip player_id='966033' first='Brandon' last='Goliday'] – Antioch

[player_tooltip player_id='966033' first='Brandon' last='Goliday'] has been fantastic in 2025, putting up 1,193 yards and 15 touchdowns on 22.9 yards per reception.

Yes, that's impressive. However, the competition he's faced hasn't been the greatest; many people wanted to see what the senior wide receiver would do against a good defense.

Well, he faced an elite FRA unit last week and put any doubts to bed as he dominated. Goliday caught 12 passes for 253 yards and four touchdowns to prove himself as a legit top-tier receiver.

He's a tad light at 175 pounds, but he plays strong and uses his athleticism to get around defenders. Antioch's WR1 is blazing fast, with great twitch and solid route running, consistently beating defenders.

Goliday is explosive with good hands and the ability to play physical against bigger defensive backs.

He's really impressed lately, and I think he'll find his college home soon.

WR [player_tooltip player_id='1537396' first='Maddox' last='Porter'] at a Prep Redzone camp.

2029 WR [player_tooltip player_id='1537396' first='Maddox' last='Porter'] – Battle Ground Academy

BGA wide receiver [player_tooltip player_id='1537396' first='Maddox' last='Porter'] is one of the biggest stories this high school football season.

He's another guy who people expected to be good, but not like this. Porter has dominated everybody he's faced and is likely the No. 1 freshman in Tennessee.

Porter missed a game earlier in the season. But in seven games, he's caught 29 passes for 570 yards and 12 touchdowns.

He's a big body at 6-foot-2, with a long frame and the explosiveness to become one of the most dynamic receivers in the nation. The freshman is fast with crisp route running, nice cuts, good separation skills and the ability to make tough/contested catches consistently.

The ceiling is sky high for Porter, who's already garnering interest from big schools with 14 Division I offers.

2027 WR Lex Baskin – Brentwood Academy

Lex Baskin is part of a Brentwood Academy squad that's having its best season since 2020, sitting at 7-0. He's been one of the star wide receivers who's cementing himself as a legitimate star. He holds four Division I offers, with more to come.

Baskin offers so much as a wideout, with BA using him as a chess piece. He can line up on the outside or inside and can be used on screens, as well as take the top off a defense.

The junior is well-built, standing 6-foot-0 and weighing 170 pounds, with plenty of athleticism, elusiveness and quickness.

Baskin is ranked No. 30 overall in Tennessee for the class of 2027 with a ton of potential at receiver.
