One of the state's top passers two years in a row and part of the duo of he and [player_tooltip player_id='1923069' first='Keenan' last='Kilburg'], [player_tooltip player_id='1614201' first='Cal' last='Bonifas'] is once again killing opposing teams through the air this fall.

After completing 157-of-239 passes (65.7%) for 1,928 yards, 17 touchdowns and eight picks over ten games last season, Bonifas has reached an entirely new level in 2025. Now a senior for Bellevue, Bonifas has completed 160-of-228 passes (70.2%) for 2,194 yards, 23 scores and eight picks in seven games, leading the Comets to an undefeated record to this point in the year. The only quarterback to exceed 2,000 passing yards so far, Bonifas leads the state in passing by 342 yards.

One of many 8-man monsters through the air this season, [player_tooltip player_id='1242284' first='Brady' last='Boulton'] is in his third year as the full time starter under center for Montezuma. One of the top passers in 8-man returning from last season, Boulton is at it once again in 2025.

So far, Boulton is tied for third in all classes in passing touchdowns, having thrown for 25 through seven games. Also ranking in the top 20 state-wide in yards per completion, Boulton averaged 18.9 yards per completed pass. Altogether, he's completed 66-of-106 passes (62.3%) for 1,249 yards. With those numbers, just under 40% of his completed passes have resulted in touchdowns.

The engine that makes the Norwalk offense go with an Iowa commit at wide receiver ([player_tooltip player_id='283943' first='Eli' last='Robbins']) and previously the No. 1 player in the state's class of 2027 before reclassifying to 2026 ([player_tooltip player_id='1198816' first='Luke' last='Brewer']), [player_tooltip player_id='1619680' first='James' last='Hatlevig'] has taken full advantage of the weapons at his disposal through the air this season for the Warriors.

So far this year, Hatlevig has completed 117-of-202 passes for 1,453 yards and 19 touchdowns to just two interceptions. Though the Warriors started the season 0-3 after moving up to 5A, he has led his team to four straight victories as Norwalk looks to fight for a playoff spot over the next two weeks of the regular season.

In his second year as the starter for Cascade, [player_tooltip player_id='1954722' first='Mick' last='Hoffman'] has become dramatically more efficient as a senior.

As a junior, Hoffman completed 101-of-181 passes (55.8%) for 1,228 yards, eight touchdowns and six interceptions. Not a horrible year by any means, Hoffman is among the elite passers in the state this time around.

This season, Hoffman has completed 150-of-219 passes (68.5%) for 1,801 yards, 25 touchdowns and just two picks. Leading the Cougars to a 5-2 record so far, Hoffman has done so in a ridiculously efficient fashion, posting a QBR of 173.4.

Speaking of ridiculously efficient -- [player_tooltip player_id='1242266' first='Brody' last='Pryor'] hasn't passed the ball a ton this year for Woodbine, but it has turned out pretty well when he does. The passing half of the duo that includes Power 4 prospect at receiver, [player_tooltip player_id='1197458' first='Landon' last='Blum'], the No. 4 prospect in 2027 couldn't do it without his quarterback.

So far this season, Pryor has completed just 59-of-86 passes (68.6%) for 1,128 yards, 23 touchdowns and one interception. So, not only does Pryor lead the way in the passing attack for the Tigers, he protects the rock, too.

Given how little he has passed it this season ([player_tooltip player_id='1358960' first='Cal' last='Pryor'] has also done some of the work, completing 21-of-27 passes for 335 yards and six scores), nearly 40% of Brody's completions have been for touchdowns. He has posted a QBR of 264.7.
