Forest Lake has opened the season undefeated and currently sits among the top 3 teams in Class 6A, driven in part by the shutdown play of junior cornerback Ndifor Tamikong. Through six games, Tamikong has already amassed four interceptions (leading 6A), five pass breakups, 19 tackles, two tackles for loss, and a sack. Tamikong started all 10 games as a sophomore, and that experience shows in his mature technique and steady presence. He is long, fast, and confident on the line. He uses patient feet to mirror release patterns, plays through the upfield shoulder at the catch point, and delivers intent in perimeter run support. His length helps him recover when beaten early, and his stride carries him with makeup speed down the boundary. With Forest Lake's fierce front forcing quick throws, Tamikong's ability to trigger on hitches and bubbles has turned routine routes into tackles for loss. He has physical and mental traits to grow into a true boundary matchup piece as he continues to add mass and refine his coverage instincts.

Explosiveness and edge power define [player_tooltip player_id='1249660' first='George' last='Evert'], Hill-Murray's senior pass-rusher who brings both experience and upside to the defensive front. At 6-foot-2, 205 pounds, Evert combines length with an elite first step that makes him one of the quickest off the ball in Class 4A. His burst consistently forces tackles to open early, and his violent hands help him disengage cleanly in tight spaces. Evert plays with a relentless motor, finishing through the whistle and often chasing plays down from the backside. After transferring into the program last season, Evert quickly proved his value by generating steady pressure and living in opposing backfields. With a full offseason in the system, coaches have expanded his role within a new 4-4 front, freeing him from strict containment duties and allowing him to attack more aggressively. He diagnoses run schemes quickly, locates ball carriers with precision, and shows the awareness to split double teams without losing gap integrity. Evert's athleticism gives him positional flexibility. He can stand up as an outside linebacker or put his hand in the dirt as a traditional end. He is disciplined against the run and flashes closing speed and edge torque that project well to the next level. A high-motor, violent-handed disruptor whose technique and energy make him a legitimate college prospect on the rise.

Ely is the tone-setter for St. Peter's defensive front. A heavyweight wrestler with low pads, heavy hands, and serious core strength, he wins first contact and converts it into backfield disruption. At 6-foot-3 with a powerful base, he eats double teams and rarely gives up ground. His 330-pound bench, 300-pound clean, and 445-pound squat numbers show how much raw strength fuels his game. Through six games, Ely has 24 tackles, 7 tackles for loss and 3.5 sacks. He's a constant in the backfield with 22 quarterback pressures and one forced fumble. He plays rush end in a four-man front but is equally comfortable sliding inside to a 3-tech. His leverage and leg drive make him a natural fit in either spot, and his long-arm technique allows him to control blocks, fold down on power, and close with a heavy rip. He's more power than finesse but moves well enough to squeeze through creases when protections slide wide. Ely's motor and consistency define him. On offense he locks down right tackle, bringing the same balance and aggression that he shows on defense. His leadership and effort give the unit a steady edge, and the staff has handed him the green light to attack and create chaos. If he stacks sacks and tackles for loss as expected, he profiles as a live small-college defensive line prospect with real upside.

Oakland headlines the Northfield defense and continues to prove why he's one of Minnesota's most dominant linemen. Long, strong, and active, he's playing unblockable football through the first stretch of the season. At 6-foot-5, 225 pounds, Oakland pairs college-ready length with elite get-off, exploding off the line before most blockers can react. His first step is consistently the fastest on the field, allowing him to collapse pockets and chase plays down from the backside. Over his past two games, Oakland has posted 1.5 sacks, 5.5 tackles for loss, and 12 total tackles. He's also disrupted throwing lanes with three batted passes, caught four balls for 50 yards on offense, and forced five holding penalties as blockers struggled to contain his length and power. His ability to disengage and redirect makes him equally effective against the run and pass. Oakland converts speed to power effortlessly and stays disciplined in pursuit, maintaining leverage while still playing with violence. As an SDSU commit, he brings leadership and professionalism that set the tone for Northfield's front and elevate everyone around him.

Returning from a torn ACL, Keegan Grube embodies Annandale's defensive identity — physical, disciplined, and relentless. At 6'1”, 210 pounds, he has ideal size for an inside linebacker and plays with controlled aggression. Groves diagnoses plays quickly, attacks downhill with balance, and finishes tackles through the ball carrier. His wrestling background shows in his leverage and tackling technique, making him a reliable run defender who rarely gets washed out of plays. Groves the middle of Annandale's 3–5 defense. He is full pf explosiveness and game rhythm. Groves profiles prospect with the leadership and physical tools to develop into a high-volume tackler at the next level.

Cisneros is the veteran cover corner who stabilizes the back end. His experience shows in calm feet, patient eyes, and an understanding of route concepts. Comfortable in man or zone, he uses disciplined leverage to funnel routes to help, then competes at the catch point without grabbing. He mirrors releases with quiet feet and transitions smoothly from backpedal to drive on outbreaking routes. He gives coaches confidence to spin coverage and load the box, knowing he can hold up on an island versus WR2s and even travel to WR1 in key moments. He doesn't see a ton of targets which speaks to the respect opposing coaches have for him in coverage. He's been a key part in the Royals active three-game winning streak. This season's achievements include a sustained period of good health, increased takeaway production (one interception), and consistent vocal communication within a nascent secondary.

Marble is the heartbeat of a 3-4 quarters defense that asks its inside backers to run and trigger. At roughly 200 pounds and one of the team's fastest athletes, he brings a “see it, shoot it” style without sacrificing pursuit angles. As last year's second-leading tackler, he showed range sideline-to-sideline, scraping over the top of pullers and closing space on perimeter screens. He picked up right where he left off last season. Through six games, Marble has 65 tackles. His speed lets STMA spin safeties, adjust fronts, and still fit the box with confidence; Marble's communication pre-snap and his post-snap decisiveness reduce gray areas for the front. He's comfortable carrying seams in match-quarters and blitzing A/B gaps to create single blocks for the nose. The next step is stacking more ball production—punch-outs and tips—while adding strength to defeat climbs from bigger guards. With another season of high-volume, high-speed play, Marble projects a college WILL/MIKE hybrid who can be a core special teamer on day one and a defensive centerpiece as he adds weight.
