2028 OL Report: Midseason Update

<p>We just updated our <a href="https://prepredzone.com/north-carolina/rankings/2028-rankings/">2028 rankings</a>, and we'll have plenty of coverage this week of stock-risers, new additions, and the players that tell the story of the update. We've already gone <a href="https://prepredzone.com/2025/10/behind-the-scenes-of-the-2028-rankings-midseason-update/">behind the scenes of the rankings update</a>. Here, we're hitting the running backs, covering every player who either rose or was added to the rankings. We started with our <a href="https://prepredzone.com/2025/10/2028-qb-report-stock-risers-and-new-additions/">2028 QB Report</a>, then hit the RB <a href="https://prepredzone.com/2025/10/2028-rb-new-additions/">New Additions</a> and <a href="https://prepredzone.com/2025/10/2028-rb-stock-risers-midseason-update/">Stock-Risers</a>. Here, I'm breaking down the offensive linemen.</p>   <h2 class="wp-block-heading">2028 OL New Additions</h2>    <p class="text-gray-700">Martin is new to the rankings, debuting just outside the top 50, after starting the year on our watch list. He's been a huge part of Independence's offensive success. His tape is excellent, as he's aggressive, powerful, and has a nasty streak. He's always looking for work. The early returns are great, and we're excited to see how he progresses.</p>     <p class="text-gray-700">Petrovich stood out when I scouted Middle Creek earlier this season, and despite being a bit undersized, he ranks among the top offensive linemen in the state. He stays anchored, with excellent lower body technique and a base that allows him to stonewall bigger defenders. As he gets bigger, we expect him to get even better.</p>     <p class="text-gray-700">Plume is having a strong sophomore season as a guard for Christ School, especially in the running game. He has a strong lower half, and he's able to displace defensive linemen. He has the quickness to get to downblocks, and he stays centered as a pulling guard. He'll continue to grow and get more powerful as he gets older.</p>     <p class="text-gray-700">Wingler is an intriguing young lineman in that he has so much versatility. He can play any of the offensive line positions, contributes on special teams, and has a high motor. He's likely an interior lineman in the future, and the experience snapping makes him an excellent center candidate.</p>    <h2 class="wp-block-heading">2028 OL Stock-Risers</h2>    <p class="text-gray-700">Koontz is a powerful interior blocker with a mean streak, a guy who loves to hit and drive defenders out of the way. He can occasionally be inconsistent with his base and pad level, but still has a ton of success, giving him some high upside with more experience. He's played against a difficult schedule of defensive linemen, looking great in the process.</p>     <p class="text-gray-700">McCullen has gotten better and better as he's grown. The offseason weight room work paid off as he's stronger and more agile as a sophomore. He's always been aggressive, but the added strength has helped turn that into spurts of dominance. He's playing a lot of right tackle, but probably projects best as a guard. We love the upside, and we love the tape we're seeing from him.</p>
