Petrovich isn’t the biggest guy, but he’s a steady interior presence on Middle Creek’s talented line. I’ve mentioned this before, but I think Petrovich is a guy who ultimately outplays his projected recruiting level because he does so many things that are tough to notice on paper. He’s one of the best in the state at getting to reach blocks and climbing to the second level.
In terms of importance to his team, few offensive linemen in the state are as underrated as Petrovich. Not only did he help set protections last season, but Middle Creek’s offense was largely designed around plays that simply wouldn’t work if Petrovich was on the sidelines. He has several reach blocks on tape that the average center wouldn’t come close to finishing. A lot of Middle Creek’s running game is made possible by his athleticism and lateral movement.
Petrovich has gotten better and better with in-game experience, so it certainly helped when Middle Creek made a long playoff run to the 6A State Championship. His play strength far exceeds expectations for his size, and he’s one of the quicker interior linemen in the state. Assuming he maintains his flexibility and balance as he adds some weight, he’s a surefire Division 1 prospect.
Petrovich stood out when I scouted Middle Creek earlier this season, and despite being a bit undersized, he ranks among the top offensive linemen in the state. He stays anchored, with excellent lower body technique and a base that allows him to stonewall bigger defenders. As he gets bigger, we expect him to get even better.
