Will Helms | Prep Redzone Scout
Wicker missed nearly the entire season last year, and while Middle Creek nearly won a state title on the strength of its defense, the Mustangs missed his steady presence in the middle. Two years removed from a 100-tackle season, Wicker will look to bounce back with a huge senior year.

Wicker isn’t ever going to be an “off the bus” guy who turns heads with pure size or athleticism, but he’s a thumper who always puts himself in a position to make plays. He has time to continue growing and burst onto the scene as a sophomore with over 100 tackles. He’s a solid player who rarely overcommits or makes mistakes in the running game, and a guy we continue to closely monitor.

Wicker really impressed me when I dove into the film of several guys from Middle Creek. Wicker picked up his game as the season went on and was fantastic in conference play, making 64 tackles in his final five games. He’s a bit undersized, but moves extremely well, allowing him to always be in the right position to make plays.

A sure tackler, Wicker had an excellent season for Middle Creek, racking up over 100 tackles, most of them solo. As he continues to grow, he has the look of a prototypical modern middle linebacker, a guy who excels in pass coverage, but can still still his nose in and clog up the middle to make tackles in the run game.
