This season, we have started a new idea at Prep Redzone called “Power Scores”. “Power Scores” are computer-generated team rankings (not scout-based) that take into account various factors which can be found here. With that being said, I wanted to take a look at where our “Power Scores” currently stand in the state Kentucky in each class and focus on an impact player on each team in the Top 10. After already covering 4A-6A, here are some impact players for the Top 10 teams in 3A in our Week 10 “Power Scores”.

1. Christian Academy of Louisville:

The three-time defending 3A champions look well on their way to a fourth straight championship. While their roster is filled with talent, the player that has stood out above the rest this season is their star junior wide receiver, [player_tooltip player_id='466365' first='Ja'Hyde' last='Brown']. Through nine games, Brown leads the entire state in receiving with 70 receptions for 1,050 yards and 17 touchdowns. He is a very skilled route runner, using quick breaks in his routes to create separation with ease. Ja'Hyde also has explosive speed which he uses to blow by opposing defensive backs in the deep passing game and to pick up extra yards after the catch. Brown has also made an impact on special teams this season, returning one kickoff and a punt for touchdowns. Ja'Hyde holds a long list of Power 4 offers and I expect them to continue to pile up for him over the next two years.

2. Murray:

Senior quarterback [player_tooltip player_id='401931' first='Wyatt' last='Robbins'] has led the Tigers to an 8-0 start to their season, completing 115/160 passes for 1,965 yards, 23 touchdowns, and only two interceptions. Robbins has a strong arm which he uses to lead his receivers down the field with ease in the deep passing game. He has also shown impressive accuracy, showing the ability to fit passes into tight windows where only his intended receivers have a chance to catch them. Robbins has also shown the ability to tuck the ball and make plays as a ball carrier this season, carrying the ball 48 times for 405 yards and two touchdowns so far. Wyatt currently holds an offer from Murray State and I wouldn't be surprised to see more come his way soon as he is a Division I caliber quarterback prospect.

3. Lloyd Memorial:

The Juggernauts are another 3A team off to an undefeated start to their season. They have been led by the strong play of sophomore [player_tooltip player_id='1652072' first='Lincoln' last='Tomlinson']. Tomlinson has been very impressive out of the backfield this season, leading the team in rushing with 91 carries for 575 yards and 11 touchdowns in eight games. He has impressive vision which he uses to find an open running lane quickly then he has the burst of speed to hit the lane in a hurry then run away from the defense on long runs. Tomlinson has also caught nine passes for 80 yards this season. He has also made a huge impact on defense at linebacker, leading the team with 78 tackles along with eight tackles for loss, one sack, and an interception. Lincoln has received some college interest and I expect college coaches to be keeping a close eye on him over the next few seasons.

4. Bell County:

Bell County is off to an 8-0 start to the 2025 season, due in large part to the play of senior running back, [player_tooltip player_id='1513937' first='Kaleb' last='Miller']. Miller has had an outstanding year so far, leading his team in rushing with 94 carries for 1,303 yards and 21 touchdowns. Kaleb is a strong downhill runner who has shown the ability to run straight through defenders while maintaining his balance to break tackles with ease. He has also shown the speed to run away from the defense once he hits the open field. Miller has also caught one touchdown pass and has made an impact on defense this season, recording 23 tackles and four tackles for loss so far. Kaleb currently holds offers from Union, Howard Prep Academy, Midway, Graceland, and Bellarmine, and I expect that list to continue to grow throughout the rest of his senior year.

5. Bourbon County:

The Colonels have been one of the pleasant surprises of the 2025 season, led by the strong play of senior [player_tooltip player_id='1925249' first='Malachai' last='Rennie']. On offense, Rennie has been Bourbon County's starting quarterback this season, completing 82/156 passes for 1,235 yards, 13 touchdowns, and six interceptions in eight games. While he has been impressive as a passer, he has also made a huge impact as a ball carrier, using his speed and athleticism to make big plays in the open field. He currently leads his team in rushing with 65 carries for 379 yards and 13 touchdowns. Rennie has also played a key role on defense at safety where he has proven to be very reliable against both the pass and run. He leads his team in tackles with 46 and interceptions with four while also recording one tackle for loss and half a sack. Rennie is a player who college coaches should keep an eye on this season as he has the versatility to play multiple positions at the next level.

6. Lawrence County:

Lawrence County is another 3A team off to a very strong start to their season. One of the key players leading the charge for them has been junior [player_tooltip player_id='409027' first='Carlo' last='Chicko']. Chicko has made his biggest impact this season on defense at outside linebacker. He is very impressive against the run, showing the ability to diagnose the play quickly then use his speed to get to the ball carrier in a hurry to make the tackle in the open field. Carlo currently leads his team with 94 tackles and 16 tackles for loss in eight games. He has also recorded three sacks and has made an impact on offense this season, catching 19 passes for 269 yards and two touchdowns while also running the ball 10 times for 57 yards and a touchdown. Chicko should be a player to keep an eye on as he continues to develop over the next two seasons.

7. Rockcastle County:

The Rockets are off to a very strong start to the 2025 season, led by the impressive play from their talented senior, [player_tooltip player_id='283968' first='Isaiah' last='Jackson']. Jackson has been electric out of the backfield this season, leading his team in rushing with 95 carries for 1,070 yards and 13 touchdowns in eight games. He is a very difficult ball carrier to tackle in the open field as he has very impressive vision which he uses to find cut back lanes and then has the elusiveness to make defenders miss with ease. Jackson has also caught seven passes for 135 yards and three touchdowns, and has returned one kickoff for a touchdown so far this season. He has made an impact on defense as well, recording 31 tackles, seven tackles for loss, and three sacks so far. Isaiah currently holds offers from Austin Peay State, Eastern Kentucky, and Kentucky State, and I expect more to come his way as he is a Division I caliber prospect.

8. Glasgow:

The Scotties have gotten off to an impressive 8-0 start to their season. One of the keys to their success has been the play of junior [player_tooltip player_id='1971892' first='Jaylen' last='Bradley']. Bradley has had a strong season out of the backfield, carrying the ball 42 times for 412 yards and six touchdowns. He has very impressive speed which he uses to get to the outside in a hurry then get up the field to run away from the defense. Bradley has also shown the elusiveness to make defenders miss and contact balance to break tackles in the open field. He has also shown the ability to line up in the slot and pose as a threat in the passing game, catching 13 passes for 357 yards and four touchdowns so far this season. Jaylen has also played a role on defense this season, recording 16 tackles and a team-high five interceptions (two returned for touchdowns). Bradley is a player who college coaches should keep their eyes on over the next two seasons.

9. East Carter:

East Carter is off to a strong start to the 2025 season, led by the impressive play on senior running back, [player_tooltip player_id='1923728' first='Landon' last='Yoak']. Through eight games, Yoak leads the team in rushing with 133 carries for 1,322 yards and 20 touchdowns. Yoak explodes out of his stance and uses his speed to burst through the running lane then run away from the defense on long runs. When defenders are able to catch up to him, he has shown the elusiveness to make them miss. He has also played a role on defense, recording 17 tackles, six tackles for loss, and a sack so far this season. Landon is a player who definitely deserves some attention from college coaches as he has the talent to play somewhere at the next level.

10. Letcher County Central:

To wrap up our top 10 teams in our 3A Week 10 “Power Score” rankings in the state of Kentucky, I have the Letcher County Central Cougars. The Cougars have been led on both sides of the ball this season by senior [player_tooltip player_id='1227163' first='Garrett' last='Howard']. On defense, Howard lines up at inside linebacker where he has been dominant against the run. He reads his keys quickly then flows downhill to the ball carrier with a sense of urgency. Once he gets to the ball carrier, he has proven to be a very reliable tackler, leading his team with 110 tackles along with two tackles for loss through nine games. He has also recorded one sack this season. On offense, Howard currently leads his team in rushing with 96 carries for 955 yards and 17 touchdowns while also catching one touchdown pass. Garrett doesn't currently hold any offers but he is a player who should be on the radar of college coaches this season.
