He came over from Pike County Central (KY) to finish out his high school career for the Miners and immediately upgraded their program. Knuckles was the missing piece to their disappointing 2024 campaign, and he's put together back-to-back strong performances with his new squad. He's a D1 prospect and had a breakout freshman year for the Wildcats and has continued that momentum into 2025 as a sophomore. You'd never believe that he was only in his second season of high school as a 6'2 230 athlete with high-level athleticism for his size. He had a 98-yard kick return for a touchdown and rushed for 108 yards and a score on just 5 touches in the game. He carried the load on the ground for the Patriots with 157 yards on 25 carries and a touchdown. Nelson's bruising running style gave the Purple Riders' defense fits as the Patriots won the line of scrimmage battle up front. He carried the ball 6 times for an efficient 117 yards and 2 touchdowns, and added 8 tackles on defense.
