‘s ceiling is sky-high and one of the best in the class if he continues to progress. He’s still raw mechanically in some areas that would elevate his game even further, but you can’t ignore his large frame and high-level arm strength that will greatly appeal to college programs. Once he irons out his mechanics, look for Green to pick up serious D1 attention with FBS upside.

. The physically imposing quarterback can lead the Patriots to their second state title this season and will have them in the mix for the next two years as well. He’s rewriting the record books for passing at Independence and is one of the brightest prospects in the 2028 class. Green leads an explosive passing attack and will utilize his size in the running game at times as well, a tough task for defenses this time of the year in the postseason.

‘s cleanest performance during his short career, but the sophomore gunslinger led the Patriots to a huge week one win over a talented Herbert Hoover squad. He finished the night completing 12/28 passes for 241 yards and a pair of touchdowns, while adding a score with his legs. Green spread the ball to five different receivers and proved the work he put in this offseason to utilize his legs more this season paid off in both pocket movement and scrambles/designed runs.

avoid the sophomore slump and take a step forward. He has all of the physical traits to be a D1 quarterback as he irons out some fundamentals for the position. If Green makes that jump in year two, expect the Patriots to be playing at Laidley Field in December.
Here’s what we recently said about Green in our 2028 Rankings Debut article:

emerged at quarterback for the Patriots as a freshman and has a very high ceiling as a prospect at that position. He’s an imposing presence behind center with a large frame that translates to arm strength. Green produced in his first season at the high school level and put some very good things on film that D1 programs are going to like as he continues to develop. He throws one of the best deep balls in the state, regardless of class year, and has impressive arm talent for his age. If Green can sure up his lower body mechanics and throw off a stronger base more consistently without relying so heavily on his upper body, his ability will climb even higher.”

, but he’ll consistently be in the mix for one of the top-ranked spots among passers in this class. Green has great early size in the 6’3 220 range which translates to impressive arm strength where he can stretch the field vertically with the best of the WV 2028 QB class. He broke Independence’s single-season passing record in his first season behind center throwing for 1,800 yards and totaling 29 touchdowns. We’ll learn more about Green’s game once film is posted to Hudl, but he’s a definite name to know and watch over the next three years.

I’m not big into making comparisons between 8th graders and accomplished players on the college and professional level, but it’s really difficult for me to not compare

and future NFL Hall of Fame Quarterback, Ben Roethlisberger. Green is a load at the QB position, listed between 6-foot-2 and 6-foot-4, and 215-to-225-pounds, depending on where you look–regardless, that’s among the biggest 2028 QBs in the country. This past season he led the Independence Patriots to an undefeated season and Raleigh County Championship, rewriting the record books in the process. The Raleigh County MVP set the single-season record with 1,530 yards through the air and 23 touchdowns, with just two interceptions. The big fella’ plated an exclamation point on his 8th grade season and middle school career in the championship game W over Trap Hill. In the 48-18 blowout, Green went 6-of-8 through the air for 177 yards and two touchdowns, also tacking on four rushing attempts for 50 yards and two additional scores.
