#1 BIXBY (3-0) AT #2 JENKS (3-0)

It's #1 VS #2 in the state's largest class. It doesn't get much better than that to open up district play. Top-ranked Bixby goes on the road to square off with #2 Jenks. Both teams are unbeaten to start this season and have won games in different ways. Bixby has been an absolute monster from the opening kickoff of the 2025 football season. Jenks has been very close but have sprinkled in a comeback win over Owasso in week one. There is no doubt that the winner of this game will be in the driver's seat for the district crown. But losing this game is not a death sentence. With the way both of these teams have kicked off the season, it wouldn't be surprising to see a rematch in the playoffs.

#10 COLCORD (3-0) AT #7 WYANDOTTE (3-0)

This is the first of two showdowns between top ten teams in Class 2A-2 and coincidentally, all four teams that are involved are from the same district. #10 Colcord hits the road to square off with #7 Wyandotte on Friday night. There will be a lot of attention on the other marquee match-up from this district but don't overlook this one as whoever wins this game is going to stay in the district title hunt while the loser is going to have a lot of work to do moving forward. Both Colcord and Wyandotte have gotten off to fast starts. Wyandotte has a very experienced and talented team while Colcord has started this season with a bang under their first year head coach.

#9 COLLINSVILLE (3-0) AT #2 DEL CITY (2-1)

#2 Del City opens up district play against #9 Collinsville Friday night. Last season, it was an absolute blowout with Del City rolling to a 61-10 victory. The Eagles would roll to a district championship from there and they are expecting to start another district title run with a big win Friday night. For Collinsville, they weren't healthy in that loss to Del City and coming into this week, it looks like all their top playmakers will be ready to go. Now, the Cardinals will need to bring their A-game to take down Del City because the Eagles have looked great following their season-opening loss to Edmond Memorial. This is a huge match-up for the district standings as this district looks like it could be incredibly deep once again.

#6 KINGSTON (2-1) AT #9 KIEFER (2-1)

The first of two marquee match-ups in Class 2A-1 has #6 Kingston going on the road to face Kiefer. We really like this match-up because not only will the winner be in a good position moving forward in the district title race, they should come out of the gates swinging in this one. Both Kiefer and Kingston have been battle tested so far this season. Both teams faced very good opponents in the non-district schedule and now they can reset the slate and learn from those battles early on in the year. The Trojans might feel like they have the edge after getting a great comeback win over 2A-2 contender Vian. Kingston is looking for that first marquee win this week on the road.

#4 MARLOW (2-0) AT #7 LINDSAY (3-0)

The other marquee in Class 2A-1 taking place this week will see #4 Marlow go on the road to square off with #7 Lindsay on Friday night. Both teams are unbeaten so far this season. The Outlaws have had the last two weeks off after they had their week two game cancelled and a bye week last week. Lindsay absolutely dominated Atoka last week and comes into this week with plenty of momentum. This match-up is definitely an intriguing one in Class 2A-1. Both teams are in the same district with three-time defending state champion Washington. The winner of this game will stay in that district title race while the loser is going to be in a lot of trouble with the district standings.

#9 NORMAN NORTH (2-1) AT #6 EDMOND MEMORIAL (3-0)

There are monster match-ups in Class 6A-1 in the Tulsa area but we'll also see #6 Edmond Memorial look to stay undefeated when they host #9 Norman North on Friday night. Norman North dropped their season opener but has looked really good in their last two games. They're also coming off a game where the offense was lights out. They'll be tested in a major way on Friday night as they travel to face Edmond Memorial. The Bulldogs might have one of, if not the best defense in Class 6A-1 this season. And the Bulldogs are starting to find that identity on the offensive side of the ball, making them a complete team and one that could very well make another run to the 6A-1 semifinals.

#3 OWASSO (1-2) AT #4 BROKEN ARROW (2-1)

We'll see #1 & #2 squaring off in 6A-1 but don't overlook this massive match-up as #3 Owasso goes on the road to square off with #4 Broken Arrow. The Rams are 1-2 following losses to the top two teams in the class. Broken Arrow is 2-1, with the only loss coming to Arkansas powerhouse Fayetteville in overtime. The storylines write themselves for this game as Owasso offensive coordinator Josh Blankenship returns to BA, where he was head coach for several years. But throw that out as this is a monster game for the district championship race. There will be a lot of good football played this year but these two teams both expect to capture that district title.

#4 PERKINS-TRYON (2-1) AT #2 SULPHUR (3-0)

#2 Sulphur hosts #4 Perkins-Tryon Friday night in a game that's hands down the top game in Class 3A this week. The Bulldogs are 3-0 and have had one of the best starts this season, taking down defending champions Washington and Davis in non-district play. Perkins-Tryon had a tough rivalry loss to Cushing in week two but bounced back in dominant fashion with a win over Webster. Now, we get to see these two teams collide and with this match-up, we'll see two outstanding running backs. On paper, this game looks like it could end up deciding the district championship but there's a lot of football still to play. Both teams come into this week playing at a very high level to start the year.

#5 PIEDMONT (2-1) AT #1 CHOCTAW (1-2)

6A-2's top-ranked and defending champion Choctaw will host #5 Piedmont in the district opener on Friday night. For the defending champs, this will be a much-needed homecoming after they started their season with three straight games on the road, coming up short in the last two contests. For Piedmont, it's an opportunity to make a statement to the rest of Class 6A-2 that they are the real deal in 2025. Piedmont dominated in their first two games but came up short last week against Norman. The Wildcats will look to bounce back and no better way than taking down the defending champs. Choctaw will be happy to play in front of the home fans and they expect to roll in this one.

#4 SALINA (3-0) AT #3 ADAIR (3-0)

Our final game on this breakdown will be a game that we cover as #3 Adair hosts #4 Salina. This game is the one we hinted at in the Colcord-Wyandotte breakdown. On paper, Adair and Salina look like the two favorites to capture the district championship. The winner here will be in the driver's seat. Adair went undefeated in the regular season last year. The closest game was a 22-18 win over Salina. The Warriors have owned this rivalry for the last decade but the Wildcats look for real this season. They have some serious talent and have been dominant so far through the first week. This is another one of those district openers that will end up having massive playoff ramifications.
