Every week across Ohio, players are delivering standout performances that demand attention. Whether it's quarterbacks piling up stats, two-way athletes flipping games on both sides of the ball, or defensive leaders setting the tone, the state continues to showcase high-level talent. Here are six players who stood out this past week and deserve a spotlight.

Joe Caudill – QB/DB – Lexington (2027) – @Joey_caudill10
Caudill is proving to be one of the top young dual-threat athletes in North Central Ohio. Against Wooster, he connected on a 30-yard touchdown strike and later turned defense into offense with a 48-yard pick-six. While his passing line was modest (52 yards), the Minutemen only needed his situational playmaking as they scored 42 first-half points. His upside as both a safety and a quarterback makes him a name to watch long term.

[player_tooltip player_id='970982' first='Brayden' last='DeVito'] – QB – Shelby (2026) – @braydendevito1
Accuracy is what sets DeVito apart. In Shelby's 48-0 win, he completed 17-of-19 passes for 244 yards and four touchdowns, spreading the ball with ease. He even added a rushing score to cap a nearly flawless night. What stands out is his rhythm in the RPO game — he trusts his reads and punishes defenses that overcommit. An Air Force commit, DeVito has the IQ and toughness to thrive at the next level.

[player_tooltip player_id='402349' first='Nathan' last='Bernhard'] – QB/ATH – Ashland (2026) – @nbernie26
Ashland is off to a 5-0 start, and Bernhard is the biggest reason why. At 6'6”, 230 pounds, he combines size and athleticism that make him a mismatch for high school defenses. He threw for 230 yards, ran for 64, and accounted for three touchdowns in a 42-7 win over Dover. His ability to extend plays and run quarterback power concepts gives Ashland flexibility, while his arm strength allows him to attack vertically.

Marcus Hoeflich – QB – Clear Fork (2026)
A gritty dual-threat who thrives with his legs, Hoeflich rushed for 156 yards on 19 carries with a long 48-yard score in Clear Fork's 34-0 shutout. His passing numbers (73 yards) were steady, but the Colts leaned on his run game to control tempo. What scouts love is his toughness; he takes hits, keeps drives alive, and sets the tone physically. Clear Fork's defense was dominant, but Hoeflich was the engine offensively.

Liam Kuhn – QB – Crestview (2026)
Kuhn is quietly building a strong case as one of the most consistent signal-callers in his region. He went 11-for-17 for 259 yards and three touchdowns, showing good timing and anticipation in Crestview's 44-7 win. He's accurate between the hashes and isn't afraid to take shots downfield. Kuhn also chipped in 26 rushing yards, reminding defenses he's not a statue in the pocket.

Connor “CJ” Barbara – QB/DB – Liberty-Benton (2026) – @cjbarbara_2026
Barbara is one of the most complete athletes in Northwest Ohio right now. In a 56-0 win, he threw three touchdown passes, ran for two more, and returned an interception for a touchdown. That kind of versatility is rare — he can beat you from the pocket, with his legs, or on defense. At 5-0, Liberty-Benton is rolling, and Barbara is the heartbeat of the program.
