Every Thursday throughout the regular season, we're going to add three players to our official Prep Redzone Oklahoma Player Of The Year Watchlist. This list will obviously feature the best of the best in high school football in Oklahoma. Any player, offense or defense, in any class is eligible to be added to the watchlist this season. We're looking for players that have the ultimate impact on their team. Whether it's filling up the stat sheet or having that clutch gene, we want the “it” players that have whatever “it” is. On this week's installment, we're adding three more players. A senior quarterback who has his team as one of the best in Class 2A-1. A senior running back that has taken that next step to becoming one of the elite running backs in the state. And a junior athlete who we believe is the best prospect in the state's 2027 class. Keep it locked in to Prep Redzone Oklahoma every day for new content throughout the 2025 football season! And check out our past posts at the bottom of this article to see who else is on the PRZ-Oklahoma Player Of The Year Watchlist!

[player_tooltip player_id='1179996' first='Acyn' last='Hansen'] - Senior Quarterback - Jones

We kick things off with Jones senior quarterback [player_tooltip player_id='1179996' first='Acyn' last='Hansen'] and he's a player that has been squarely on our radar for a few years now but it looks like he's elevated his game to new heights this season. Last year, Hansen became QB1 and had a really solid season. He's always been a terrific athlete for the Longhorn offense. Before he was QB1, he would help the Longhorns at other positions. But fast forward to 2025 and he has just about everything working for him. He can beat defenses with his arm, he can beat defenses with his legs and he's a big reason why the Longhorns are 3-0 and looking like the team to beat in their district and a serious contender for the 2A-1 crown. Hansen has been incredibly productive through the first three games and a couple months ago, we weren't sure if Jones could be that true state title contender. But nearly one month into the season and we're convinced that they can do just that. Hansen looks like a quarterback that has the complete understanding of the offense and what the Longhorns are wanting to do. He's a leader on the field and it's clear that everything is starting to click for him. Hansen and the Longhorns have this week off before opening up district play next week.

[player_tooltip player_id='1549987' first='Jayden' last='Hall'] - Senior Running Back - Owasso

Owasso senior running back [player_tooltip player_id='1549987' first='Jayden' last='Hall'] has begun a season where he is firmly establishing himself as one of the best running backs in Oklahoma this season. You could see signs of it towards the end of last season. Hall had some of his best performances and most clutch performances in the semifinals and then the championship game. But he was splitting carries with two other running backs. This year, he's the marquee running back in the Owasso offense and he's shouldered the load with the Ram running game. But, Owasso also lost two D1 offensive tackles so we were curious how the rushing attack would look compared to last year. It hasn't been a problem with Hall toting the rock. Whether he's taking handoffs or direct snaps from the center, Hall is methodical with his running style. He waits for the hole to open up and he bursts through and next thing you know, he's 15-20 yards down the field. Hall is a big play running back and that's been apparent so far this season. Even in the first two games this year, where Owasso lost, Hall was still able to produce and make an impact. We have been very impressed with Hall this season and he is definitely a player that still has his best football in front of him this season.

[player_tooltip player_id='478124' first='Semaj' last='Stanford'] - Junior Wide Receiver/Defensive Back - Broken Arrow

Broken Arrow junior [player_tooltip player_id='478124' first='Semaj' last='Stanford'] is currently the top-rated prospect in our 2027 rankings for Oklahoma so it felt like only a matter of time that he would be on this breakdown. Stanford made the move from Jenks to Broken Arrow this offseason and he's gotten off to a solid start in all three phases of the game. Stanford has been an absolute stud since his freshman season. If you talk to any coach that has been around Stanford in the last three years, every coach will tell you the same thing. The on-field IQ is off the charts with Stanford and that has been the case since his freshman season. Whether it's Broken Arrow, Jenks or even club 7v7 in the offseason, coaches will tell you that his knowledge of the game is off the charts. Stanford is coming off a game last week where he played incredibly well. And for us, what has us incredibly excited about his potential is he's just scratching the surface. Stanford has continued to evolve physically and as that continues, combined with his knowledge of the game, he is going to be such a dangerous player for opponents to deal with. He's the ultimate weapon on both sides of the ball and considering he's the top rated prospect in the state's 2027 class, he should also be on this list.
