Covering all of the top prospects from this past weekend's All-Star try outs, it's time to wrap it up and take a look at all of the other running backs and linebackers that deserve some recognition based off of the their performance on the field. These are some of the players that I think performed well from drill to drill, but will benefit from getting more reps in game action and by fine tuning some of the more technical aspects at their particular position.

Sean Carter Bivins: Southern Rams

Sean came in with an engine that kept on running from start to finish Saturday morning. At each station Sean moved with ferocity and intention, finishing every drill with maximum effort. Sean has a smaller stature at the moment and may be better suited in the secondary, but if he works on his running mechanics he will become a true threat to opponent's pass game.

Kellan D. Verney: Howell Rebel

Kellan first caught my eye when he was running through the bag drills, as he was very smooth in his lateral movement and kept his shoulder height low through the entire process. His movement through the bags also showed he can change directions quickly as he dug his foot into the ground to go the other way. He has linebacker characteristics, and stayed low when wrapping up runners too.

Nate Bason: Jackson Jaguars

Nate Bason is undersized at the moment, but that truly does not define is play on the field. As an RB, he ran the ball with a low pad height, prepping for contact, and showed good contact balance when the defender came in for the tackle. He also showed his athleticism when he spun out of a hit and maintained an upright posture after. A quick lateral mover, Nate is one of those players to keep an eye on as he puts on more size.

Giovanni DiMatteo: Brick

Giovanni is a big bodied, aggressive tackling linebacker. He did great in the 1 on 1 tackling drills with the running backs, squaring up with them as he closed in quickly. Brick has a solid LB in the making.

Shane Walsh: Sayreville Bombers

Shane Walsh got reps in as a QB, RB, and LB in Jackson on Saturday. He is a smaller bodied player at the moment but played with moxie throughout the day. In the first session, Shane showed he is quicker than he appears when moving through the bags and mirroring RBs. As a thrower, Shane demonstrated a strong arm for his size. I was quite impressed with his arm skills as he snuck the ball in on a quick slant and also threw a pretty ball over the defender as well deep downfield. There is much to look forward to as Shane grows.

[player_tooltip player_id='1908763' first='Ethan' last='Sekerka']: Freehold Revolution

Ethan is another linebacker that looks the part. A bigger frame with room to add on more size, Ethan has the potential to be an intimidating presence on the field field down the line. Ethan had a little trouble mirroring RBs in the open field, but that should not define his tryout performance. He also showed he can be a downhill runner as well, potentially prospering between the tackles.
