Five 2028 LBs To Keep An Eye On

We're nearly done with my 2028 player series, but not until we check out the linebackers. There are several impressive sophomore backers that need their flowers, and that's why this article exists.   Today, we'll dissect five talented linebackers across the state. Nearly all are underrated players, but they have the skills to become legitimate Division I players.   Octavius Flynn Jr is my top dog, as I see him as one of the most slept on players in the class of 2028. The next four are still high ceiling guys, but the Briarcrest Christian LB is just different.    Flynn Jr from Briarcrest Christian jumps out immediately. He's a highly explosive and electric player who sits at the inside linebacker position, but can fly around the field. He has a nice build, shows plenty of athleticism and is extremely aggressive.   Flynn is one of those guys who can flat-out play ball. He's a smart linebacker who does his job and doesn't try to do too much. Aside from the rushing and tackling side, he plays solid coverage, too.     [player_tooltip player_id='1672075' first='Cooper' last='Jones'] is another guy who's electric on the field and sticks out pretty easily. He plays outside linebacker for Middle Tennessee Christian, but could certainly move inside if he wanted to. Regardless, he's a good player who should garner college interest.   Jones is undersized but has the frame to add a lot of good weight. He's speedy, agile, physical and runs around with his hair on fire. I like what Jones has to offer, and he's somebody you need to become familiar with.     [player_tooltip player_id='1737892' first='Bralan' last='Key'] is a solid linebacker for the Riverdale Warriors. He's got a nice, compact build but has plenty of power and athleticism. Key is a smart player who is very good at stopping the run and is explosive all over the field.   He can play outside and inside, making him a versatile prospect. Key is a good tackler, plays solid coverage, moves well and can lay the boom when necessary.     [player_tooltip player_id='1177918' first='Jacob' last='Kreis'] is an intriguing prospect who's played very well for Lipscomb Academy this season. He's got solid size at 6-foot-2 and 205 pounds with space to add weight. The sophomore moves well, has a nice eye, is a good tackler and plays strong in the middle.   He excels at stopping the run, where he can be seen meeting players at the line of scrimmage due to his good get-off and quickness. Kreis plays hard and is physical all over the field. Just a solid 2028 backer who could develop into an excellent player.     [player_tooltip player_id='1038477' first='Corey' last='McGraw'] is a versatile linebacker who can do it all for Boyd Buchanan. He's mainly an inside backer, but can also hop outside and play as an edge rusher. McGraw is electric wherever he is on the field, featuring a high motor, good tackling, nice athleticism and the ability to shed blocks well.   The sophomore is a Swiss Army Knife for the Bucs and can play the new hybrid linebacker position. With an already solid frame, I'm excited to see this young player develop over the next few years.
