As we enter the month of September, two weeks of the 2025 high school football season in the state of Kentucky have already come and gone. Week 2 was filled with several exciting matchups with some very impressive individual performances. With that being said, I wanted to focus on some performances that stood out above the rest from Week 2, starting with the offensive side of the ball.

[player_tooltip player_id='205472' first='Emmett' last='Queen'] was very impressive in his first game as the starting quarterback for Beechwood. He led the Tigers to a dominant victory over Newport Central Catholic, completing 10/10 passes for 261 yards and three touchdowns. Queen showed impressive accuracy, fitting passes into tight windows with ease and hitting his receivers in stride. He also showed the arm strength to stretch the field in the deep passing game. Queen currently holds offers from Miami (OH), Eastern Kentucky, and Toledo, and I expect more to come his way as he is a Division I caliber quarterback prospect.

[player_tooltip player_id='1200706' first='Tyler' last='Fryman'] was another player who impressed in Beechwood's Week 2 win. Fryman caught three passes for 116 yards and two touchdowns. He was very impressive after the catch, showing the ability to use his speed and elusiveness in the open field to turn screens and short passes into big gains. Fryman was also able to use his speed to blow by opposing defensive backs with ease in the deep passing game. Tyler also scored a 45-yard rushing touchdown, returned a punt for a touchdown, and made an impact on defense, finishing the game with a team-high five tackles along with one tackle for loss and an interception. Fryman is committed to play baseball at Louisville but he also holds football offers from Louisville, Notre Dame, Toledo, and Miami (OH).

[player_tooltip player_id='1870116' first='Jett' last='Martin'] jumped onto my radar with a very impressive performance last week. He led Fleming County to a win over Harrison County, completing 19/28 passes for 271 yards, three touchdowns, and one interception. Martin does a great job of rolling out of the pocket when needed and keeping his eyes down the field to make throws on the run. He has also shown impressive accuracy, putting the ball where only his intended receiver can catch it. Martin also showed impressive dual-threat ability, finishing the game with 12 carries for 48 yards and four touchdowns. Jett should be a player to keep a close eye on as he continues to develop over the next few years.

[player_tooltip player_id='1694639' first='Luke' last='Fetherolf'] is another quarterback who stood out in Week 2. He was very impressive in Lawrence County's win over Garrard County, completing 17/19 passes for 300 yards and five touchdowns. Luke has a very strong arm which he uses to lead his receivers down the field with ease in the deep passing game. He has also shown the ability to go through his progressions efficiently to find the open receiver. Fetherolf also showed the ability to make plays with his legs in the win, running the ball seven times for 103 yards and a touchdown. Luke doesn't currently hold any offers but he is a player who deserves some attention from college coaches this season.

[player_tooltip player_id='401923' first='Markezz' last='Hightower'] is a player who has been high on my radar for a while now and continued to impress last week. He was dominant in his team's win over Hopkinsville, running the ball 18 times for 231 yards and four touchdowns. Markezz has an impressive burst of speed which he uses to hit the running lane then run away from the defense on long runs. He has also shown the strength and contact balance to break tackles without losing stride with ease. Hightower also finished the game with three receptions for 33 yards. Markezz surprisingly doesn't hold any offers but I expect that to change soon as he has the talent to play somewhere at the next level.

[player_tooltip player_id='283968' first='Isaiah' last='Jackson'] is another player who has been high on my radar for a while now and continued to stand out in Week 2. He helped lead his team to a win over Russellville, carrying the ball 17 times for 143 yards and three touchdowns. Jackson has impressive vision which he uses to find cut back lanes in the open field then use his quickness to make moves to make defenders miss. He has also shown the speed to break away from the defense on long runs. Isaiah also led his team in receiving with two catches for 31 yards and a touchdown, and played a role on defense, finishing the game with two tackles and one tackle for loss. Jackson currently holds offers from Eastern Kentucky, Austin Peay State, and Kentucky State, and I expect that list to continue to grow during his senior year.

[player_tooltip player_id='1517158' first='Devan' last='Maynard'] did a little bit of everything in Martin County's Week 2 win over Pike County Central. As a passer, Maynard completed 8/16 passes for 145 yards and two touchdowns. He showed the arm strength to stretch the field along with the ability to escape the pocket and make throws on the run. Maynard was also very impressive as a ball carrier, using his speed and elusiveness to tuck the ball and make a big play on the ground. He led his team in rushing with nine carries for 147 yards and three touchdowns. Maynard also made a big impact on defense, finishing the game with 14 tackles and two tackles for loss. Devan currently holds multiple offers and I expect more to come his way this season.

[player_tooltip player_id='1200728' first='Anderson' last='Lauffer'] made an impact in multiple ways in Paintsville's dominant Week 2 victory over Bath County. He did most of his damage at receiver, catching seven passes for 168 yards and four touchdowns. Lauffer showed the speed to blow by opposing defensive backs with ease to create separation in the deep passing game. He also proved to be a very reliable contested catch/jump ball target, using his athleticism to attack the ball at its highest point and strong hands to bring in the catch through contact. Lauffer also returned one punt for a touchdown and made an impact on defense, finishing the game with two tackles, one interception, and a fumble recovery. Anderson doesn't currently hold any offers but he has received some college interest and I wouldn't be surprised to see some offers start coming his way soon.

My final offensive top performer from Week 2 in the state of Kentucky is [player_tooltip player_id='1506774' first='Grayson' last='Harris']. Harris made his presence felt in a big way in Simon Kenton's win over Western Brown (OH), catching eight passes for 237 yards and three touchdowns. Grayson showed very impressive route running skills, using smooth breaks in his routes to create separation with ease. He also showed the speed to run by opposing defensive backs in the deep passing game. Harris also made a big impact on defense, coming away with two interceptions. Grayson currently holds offers from Georgetown (KY) and Mount Saint Joseph, and I expect those offers to keep piling up for him during his senior year.
