Markezz Hightower Markezz Hightower 5'10" | 180 lbs | RB Madisonville-North Hopkins | 2026 State KY has been on my radar for a while now and continued to impress as a senior. He finished the season with 202 carries for 1,655 yards and 25 touchdowns in 11 games. Hightower has impressive vision as a ball carrier, showing the ability to find cut back lanes in the open field and hit them quickly them quickly to avoid defenders. He has also shown the burst of speed to run away from the defense once he hits the second level. Hightower also caught 13 passes for 159 yards and threw a touchdown pass this season. Markezz surprisingly hasn’t reported any offers but he definitely has the talent to play somewhere at the next level.

He is the current 5A rushing leader with 84 carries for 790 yards and 12 touchdowns in five games. Hightower is a strong runner who has shown the ability to lower his shoulder and keep his feet churning while maintaining his balance to break tackles with ease. He has also shown the burst of speed to run away from the defense once he hits the open field. Markezz has also caught seven passes for 62 yards this season. Hightower doesn’t currently hold any offers but he is a player who college coaches should have on their radar this season.

Markezz Hightower Markezz Hightower 5'10" | 180 lbs | RB Madisonville-North Hopkins | 2026 State KY is a player who has been on my radar for a while now and continued to stand out this past season, finishing with 206 carries for 1,604 yards and 20 touchdowns in 11 games. Hightower is an elusive ball carrier, showing the ability to change direction smoothly to make defenders miss in the open field. He has also shown the burst of speed to run away from the defense once he hits the second level. Hightower also caught 15 passes for 188 yards and a touchdown as a junior, and came away with an interception on defense. I’m very surprised that Markezz doesn’t hold any offers yet but I expect some to come his way soon as he has received some college interest.

Hightower has impressive vision, showing the ability to find the running lane then hit it in a hurry once it opens. Once he hits the open field, Markezz has the speed to run away from the defense on long runs. He has also caught one touchdown pass so far this season. Hightower doesn’t currently hold any offers but he is a player who college coaches should definitely have their eyes on.

Claiming the number three spot on my list is Markezz Hightower Markezz Hightower 5'10" | 180 lbs | RB Madisonville-North Hopkins | 2026 State KY , a running back at Madisonville-North Hopkins High School. Hightower catches my attention with his deceptive footwork and ability to maneuver the defense on the run. Hightower’s speed and ability to absorb contact made him a challenge to contain. I also like how Hightower can hurdle defenders and break tackles to push into the endzone.

Markezz is a downhill runner that hits the running lane quickly and has the contact balance to run straight through defenders without breaking stride. Once he hits the open field, Hightower has shown that he has the burst of speed to run away from the defense. He also played a key role in the passing game this past season, catching 21 passes for 293 yards and four touchdowns. An explosive and physical runner with the ability to burst through initial contact and outrun second/third level pursuit, Hightower eclipsed the 200-yard barrier for the second time this season after breaking loose for 202 yards and 3 touchdowns on 16 carries in the Maroons’ 36-7 victory over Apollo. After compiling over 1,000 yards of total offense and 8 touchdowns as a freshman last year, he already has surpassed those numbers in only seven games this season with 14 touchdowns, and his current average of 129 yards rushing per game places him atop all Class AAAAA rushers (25th statewide). A downhill runner with the ability to quickly and efficiently cut back against over pursuit, his breakaway speed has enabled him to average 12.6 points per game, ranking him 3rd among all Class AAAAA scorers and 29th statewide. Currently 6-2, Hightower and the Maroons will host Owensboro this week in a huge district clash sure to attract countless next-level scouts.
