caught 7 passes for 110 yards and a touchdown during Madisonville-North Hopkins’ 60-14 win over Boone County during Week 8. Sharp has been their premier pass catcher this season with 7 touchdowns and 548 receiving yards across 24 receptions. Sharp does a great job of catching the ball and turning upfield quickly. While he’s potent in the short passing game, Sharp is also liable to use his speed on deep routes and beat a DB to break free out wide for big plays, resulting in chunk yardage. Likewise, Sharp also has the shiftiness needed to turn short passing plays into big gains down the sideline.
Sharp is a deep threat with elite straight-line speed that can beat a defense over the top, and Friday was no different. He blew by the defense multiple times, hit the long one, and scored twice. He only needed 3 catches to put up 85 yards and score 2 TDs. His speed is truly game-changing, and he can take advantage of a defense that isn’t disciplined, and that’s exactly what happened on Friday. Even if the defense does stay home, he’s still got the speed to blow by them.
Sharp is a smooth athlete who has really developed his frame over the past year or so. He’s added good length and still maintains the ability to cut on a dime. He’s a solid route runner who can create separation and looks comfortable working out of the slot. He put together his first real production in year two with 200 yards and 3 TDs. There’s clear growth in his game, and he’s trending toward becoming a more consistent and reliable option in the passing attack.
