A new running back to keep an eye on in the 2027 class, McIntosh is a big back who runs really well for someone his size at 6-foot-2 185-pounds. He started his junior season off strong with a big week one performance against Islands, rushing 25 times for 253 yards and three touchdowns. He showed he can break off a big run and knows how to break tackles after initial contact. He averaged an impressive 10.1 yards per rush and was a consistent weapon out of the backfield all game long. He's a small-town back with the potential to run through defenses on a weekly basis this fall. He's also bound to see a new ranking come his way in the next Prep Redzone update.

About 40 minutes outside of Atlanta is where you'll find one of the state's top backs in the 2028 class. [player_tooltip player_id='1698785' first='Woody' last='Schettini'] is coming off a really strong freshman season in 2024 and has started his sophomore season even better. In a week one win over Stars Mill, the speedy back from Newnan ran for 252 yards and three touchdowns on just 13 carries. He's a threat to score anytime he has the ball due to his quickness, sudden running style, and breakaway speed. He's one of the more elusive backs in the 2028 class and should continue to run wild for the rest of the upcoming season. He's currently ranked as the No. 8 RB prospect in the state for his class.

All the way down in Southeast Georgia is where you'll find one of the more underrated 2026 running backs across the state. Playmaking running back [player_tooltip player_id='1825728' first='Kamauri' last='Johnson'] ran through the Schley County defense all day long in week one, taking off for 210 yards and two touchdowns. When he touched the ball, good things happened as he averaged an outstanding 14 yards per carry. A big-play machine and one of the best running backs in the area, Johnson also made plays on defense in addition to carrying the load on offense. If he continues to play at a high level, Johnson should be one of the more productive backs across the state in the 2026 class.

A breakout 2027 back in Middle Georgia to keep a close eye on this year, Brown has enough burst and explosiveness to break off a big run any time he has the ball. He's shifty, slippery, and does a good job of hiding behind his linemen before flying through an open hole. He's a big-play back and is fresh off a massive week one game where he ran for 162 yards and three touchdowns on just 11 carries. That's an impressive average of 14.7 yards per carry. He also made one big catch out of the backfield that he took 54 yards for another touchdown. His stock is on the rise and opposing defenses better are going to play their best in order to stop him this season.

Another Middle Georgia back to know about this season, Flint is a shifty back with quick feet who really impressed during a week one win over Howard to kick off his junior season. He's a playmaker out of the backfield in the passing game who also runs hard when fighting for extra yards. He runs with balance, he brings above-average speed, and was a big reason why Westside came away with a 41-34 victory. He ran for an impressive 171 yards and two touchdowns, leading the way for Westside on offense. Look for Flint to be one of the more productive 2027 running backs in Macon during the 2025 season. He will also be added to the next 2027 Prep Redzone rankings.
