The only quarterback to return in 3A that passed for over 2,000 yards last season, [player_tooltip player_id='1581168' first='Kellen' last='Haverback'] threw for 2,285 total yards and 27 touchdowns in 2024 for Mount Vernon.

The main trait that stands out with Haverback is his touch on deep throws. The 6'2", 190-pound gunslinger possesses not only the arm strength to get the ball downfield, but to put it in the breadbasket of his target. He can also rip it into tight windows for his receivers.

An athlete that plays four sports for the Mustangs, it's easy to tell that Haverback has a wide array of experience in other sports, given his ability to play off-schedule, contort his body to make tough throws and take off and run with the ball if need be. Not necessarily a dual-threat QB, the Drake commit also finished with 64 carries for 121 yards and ten touchdowns last season.

[player_tooltip player_id='1242847' first='Gabe' last='Arkfeld'] returns for perennial western Iowa powerhouse, Harlan this season, who is looking to return to make it back to the Dome. The second-leading passer that returns for 2025, Arkfeld threw for 1,787 yards and 17 scores last year for the Cyclones.

Arkfeld is effective particularly under center, executing the play-action pass as well as quick game well for the Cyclones. With solid mechanics and a decent arm, Arkfeld can make all the throws he needs to for Harlan to be successful again this coming season.

At the helm of the offense full time for the first time his sophomore campaign, [player_tooltip player_id='1204540' first='Jaxson' last='McIntire'] benefitted big time from having Iowa tight end commit, Thomas Meyer as his top receiver. The No. 2 athlete in 2027, McIntire completed 31 passes and nine touchdown tosses to the four-star TE.

Meyer certainly wasn't a one-man show for Clear Lake, though, as McIntire finished the season with 100 completions for 1,749 yards and 25 scores to just four picks. A strong-armed QB that can make throws to both sides of the field and over the middle, McIntire's offensive attack will look different in 2025, but expect the rising junior to continue to ascend as one of the better passers in 3A.

Also a Power 4 prospect, McIntire holds an offer from Iowa State to play safety at the next level.

A tall QB that can surveil the defense standing at 6'3", [player_tooltip player_id='1850755' first='Hudson' last='Krukow'] of Central Dewitt returns after passing for 1,483 yards and seven touchdowns last season.

A forward for the Sabers on the hardwood, Krukow is also the leading distributor that returns for his hoops team this year after 73 assists in 2024, and he does much of the same for Central Dewitt receivers on the gridiron. With 12 separate receivers registering a catch last season, Krukow shares the rock with his weapons.

A mobile QB that keeps his eyes downfield, the rising senior can create extra time for himself and find a receiver open downfield, making it difficult to stay in coverage for DBs.

A slight of frame gunslinger from Creston, 5'10" and 145-pound QB [player_tooltip player_id='1844844' first='Tanner' last='Ray'] finished his sophomore year completing 94-of-156 passes (60.3%) for 1,134 yards and 14 touchdowns. Also a threat to take off and run, Ray took 43 carries for 225 yards and a score for the Panthers.

Though he didn't register any defensive stats last season, Ray did some of the extra work for Creston, too, booting five punts away for a total of 184 yards and averaging 36.8 yards per punt.
