After a 9-2 season in 2024, the Wamego Red Raiders look to have the pieces in place for another deep postseason run this season.

They had one of the more explosive offensives in the 4A and 3A ranks last season, and return an experienced quarterback and talented defense.

Wamego will open its season with a home game against Concordia on September 5.

I have Wamego's road game against Hayden on September 26 as my top game to scout that week, and also have the Raider's game against Rock Creek on my radar.

Here is a look at the ranked members of the Red Raiders' roster.

[player_tooltip player_id='1113129' first='Logan' last='Fulton'], QB, 6'0”, 200, ‘27

One question the Red Raiders should not have to ask themselves is who will be QB1. Fulton started as a sophomore and with continued health should play quarterback for at least two more seasons. He is ranked No. 16 overall by Prep Redzone Kansas and is the No. 1 ranked quarterback in his class. He threw for 1,746 yards and 19 touchdowns last fall. He has an excellent arm, and I love the way he reads the field.

[player_tooltip player_id='1591267' first='Jacob' last='DeRouchey'], DB, 5'11”, 185, ‘26

Wamego's defensive unit should once again be solid, as they will have multiple returning starters on that side of the ball. DeRouchey is the highest ranked Wamego senior at No. 115 overall. He recorded 62 tackles and 10 pass break-ups during his junior campaign.

[player_tooltip player_id='1261286' first='Talon' last='Conrad'], LB, 6'2”, 220, ‘26

Wamego's leading tackler last season was Conrad. He is ranked No. 181 overall by Prep Redzone Kansas. He finished his junior season with 82 tackles and seven tackles for lost yardage. Last season when I scouted the Red Raiders, I was impressed with Conrad's closing speed and the way he enjoys knocking ball carriers around.

[player_tooltip player_id='1330998' first='Joshua' last='Flanigan Jr'], OL/DL, 6'2”, 250, ‘26

Flanigan is one of three returners in the trenches. He plays the edge on defense and has the quickness to get to the quarterback and create negative yardage plays. He is ranked No. 288 overall in the Kansas Class of 2026 rankings.

[player_tooltip player_id='1114763' first='Roman' last='Eveland'], OL/DL, 5'9”, 260, ‘26

Eveland is a space-eating and bruising defensive tackle. He can play the nose or across a guard. He gets off the ball well and finishes tackles. Eveland is ranked No. 377 overall by Prep Redzone Kansas.

[player_tooltip player_id='1114731' first='Drew' last='Erickson'], WR, 5'9”, 170, ‘26

Wamego will lose some of it's top receiving talent from a year ago, but Erickson represents the top returning threat. He is ranked No. 425 in the Kansas Class of 2026. He gained 120 yards last season on reception and scored two touchdowns. He runs crisp routes and will be a deep threat for Wamego.

[player_tooltip player_id='1464032' first='Mason' last='Isch'], LB, 6'1”, 170, ‘27

Isch will be looking to bounce back from an injury-shortened sophomore season. He is ranked No. 107 in the Kansas Class of 2027. He recorded 43 tackles and nine TFLs a season ago.

[player_tooltip player_id='1115959' first='Dylan' last='Higgins'], DB, 6'1”, 170, ‘27

Higgins returns as a starter in the defensive backfield. He is ranked No. 286 overall by Prep Redzone Kansas. He recorded 43 tackles and five PBUs as a sophomore.
