As a returner, he showed a good ability to make defenders miss and the speed to take it to the end zone. The other part of his film I loved is his blocking ability. He does a great job of lead blocking for returners. On one return, I counted him blocking 3 different defenders. Then, as a cornerback, he has excellent skills. He has great coverage skills and gets his hands on a ton of balls thrown his direction. He is also a good tackler, who is excellent at making tackles in the open field. He was used as a running back, wide receiver, and an occasional running quarterback. His ability to make defenders miss in the open field is special. He has a herky, jerky movement that is hard to tackle. He also has excellent speed, and when he gets into the open field, he is off to the races. I like how he can catch the ball as a wide receiver one play and then the next play take a handoff and run at a high level. Ruffin is a talented athlete who should be in line for a huge Senior year. He recently picked up an offer from Gannon University. He played as a cornerback and wide receiver last year. As a cornerback, he showed excellent coverage skills and ball skills. He usually can get his hands on the ball thrown in his direction. He is also a good tackler, who tackles in the open field well. Then, as a wide receiver, he is an explosive athlete who is good after he catches the ball. The other part of his film I love is his route running. He runs good routes and knows exactly how to set up defenders to create separation to get open. He has an excellent arm and knows exactly how to put the perfect amount of touch on the ball. He throws a good deep ball as he puts good touch on the ball when he throws it. I like how he stays in the pocket. He is always scanning for open receivers, and he is willing to stay in the pocket and wait for his receivers to get open. He also shows guts by staying in there, delivering a good ball, and throwing the ball to the open receiver. He gets off the ball faster than most edge defenders as he fires off the ball. Then he has good strength and athleticism, so offensive linemen have a difficult time blocking him. The other part of his game that is good is how he is able to chase down plays all over the field. He has a motor that never quits. He has long arms, which allow him to reach edge defenders well and block them. He is excellent as a pass blocker because he uses his athleticism and arms to stop edge defenders.. As a run blocker, he shows good film, but with added strength, this could be an area of growth. What makes him a good safety is his ability to play well against both the run and the pass. The other part of his game that is impressive is that he can play as a deep safety, read the play well, and come screaming upfield to make tackles in the open field. He also shows incredible coverage skills and reads the passing lanes well to go and knock down passes. Booker should be able to contribute more this season as a wide receiver as well. No matter what, Booker is a future College Football player; the kid is a baller, and he already has offers from Howard University and Sacramento State. The best part of his game to me is his patience and vision. He never overpursues as he always reads the play and then makes the right read. He is an excellent run stopper by making many tackles inside the box. He also showed a good ability to run sideline-to-sideline chasing plays. He is an elite athlete who can play any skill position on the football field. He has great athleticism and speed that you expect from a player of his caliber. He has some of the best body control I have seen from a prospect. His ability to go up and catch the ball when defenders are near him is impressive. Murphy is already up to 11 offers, and I expect that number to rise. He is one of the best players in the state. He has a good size (6'3") and fires off the ball well. He does a good job of blocking edge defenders as he destroys players coming off the edge. He also does a good job as a run blocker by firing off the ball and destroying defenders.
