Prep Redzone AL's 2025 Preseason All-State Team: WR Selections

We've made it to August! With the season quickly approaching, it's time for us to give our preseason All-State selections!   Today, we're focusing on some of the most dominant WRs in the state!   You won't want to miss out on this group of talent. Be sure to check out their film below. Now, here are our preseason selections:   <h2 class="wp-block-heading">7A</h2>    [player_tooltip player_id='1225969' first='Kahden' last='Smith']<a href="https://prepredzone.com/player/kahden-smith/"></a> is a dominant WR out of Hillcrest who we now have as our All State selection in the 7A.   “Smith is a physical wide receiver who utilizes his size and athleticism to make plays over nearly every defensive back he lines up against. With his speed and quickness, Smith runs great routes, gains tons of separation, and can outrun defenders to make huge plays downfield.   In addition to his speed/explosiveness, Smith has a set of consistent hands he uses to hurt opposing defenses at every level of the field. It's really impressive watching how he secures passes- he does a great job utilizing his size and catch radius to rip the ball away from defenders and make contested catches downfield for huge gains.”   A little while back, Smith announced his commitment to Vanderbilt!   Smith has a bright future ahead this fall and on at the next level, make sure you give him a watch below:     <h2 class="wp-block-heading">6A</h2>    [player_tooltip player_id='401085' first='Cederian' last='Morgan']<a href="https://prepredzone.com/player/cederian-morgan/"></a> has become one of the top WRs in the entire nation throughout his time at Benjamin Russell, easily making him our selection in the 6A.   “Morgan has been a matchup nightmare for almost every secondary he's faced over the last three years and shows no signs of slowing down. At 6'4 220, Morgan has great size and plays with a ton of speed and physicality out wide. He's a threat at every level of the field, has reliable hands, and can highpoint the ball to bring in some tough-to-catch passes over the tops of DBs downfield.   Morgan is extremely productive after the catch- he's fast, can change his direction effortlessly, and consistently finds ways to create huge gains with the ball in his hands.”   All of those skills were on full display last fall- Morgan ended the year with 70 receptions for 1162 yards and 14 TDs.   A few weeks ago, Morgan committed to Alabama!   I can't wait to watch Morgan this upcoming season; he's unbelievably talented and has a huge year ahead for Benjamin Russell.     <h2 class="wp-block-heading">5A</h2>    [player_tooltip player_id='1530346' first='Josiah' last='Dozier'] is a talented WR who's staying as our pick in the 5A after his dominant season last fall.   "At 6'2 190, Dozier plays with a ton of speed and twitch outside, making huge plays against some talented defenses all year long. Dozier is a talented route runner who gains separation and hauls in catches at every level of the field.   With his athleticism, Dozier can do a lot after the catch- he has great speed, can make defenders miss, and is a tough player to stop in the open field."   Dozier put together a great season last fall, ending his junior year with 45 receptions for 1081 yards and 17 TDs.   A few months back, Dozier announced he'd committed to South Florida! He'll be an instant contributor as soon as he steps on campus- it'll be exciting to watch!   It's been awesome watching Dozier develop like he has over the last few years. Take a look at his film below and you'll see what I mean:     <h2 class="wp-block-heading">4A</h2>    [player_tooltip player_id='1408975' first='Brody' last='Jones'] is an electric WR out of Saint Michael Catholic who's staying as our All-State selection in the 4A.   Jones is extremely good at getting open- he finds ways to gain separation against all types of defensive backs, at every level of the field, in every game. Jones is a great route runner- he has a quick release, gets out of his breaks, and constantly finds ways to shake off DBs at or beyond the line of scrimmage.   When open, Jones does a great job securing catches and making defenders miss after the catch- he does a great job avoiding unnecessary contact and can make a ton of plays with the ball in his hands.    Jones was one of the top receiving leaders in the state all season long- he ended his junior season with 101 receptions for 1581 yards and 15 touchdowns.   A little while back, Jones committed to South Alabama! He's a talented player with a bright future ahead- do yourself a favor and watch some of his film below:     <h2 class="wp-block-heading">3A</h2>    [player_tooltip player_id='1355857' first='Cedrick' last='Simmons'] is an electric WR out of Southside who's coming in as our pick in the 3A.   "Simmons is a quick wide receiver who gains tons of separation from his route-running. It's really impressive watching Simmons play as an underclassman- he already has a strong understanding of defenses and what he needs to do to take advantage of them.   Simmons also has a great set of hands that enable him to consistently make catches, regardless of his position on the field. He can get open easily and is a constant threat to secondaries no matter what route he runs."   Last fall, Simmons hauled in 44 receptions for 944 yards and 6 TDs.   Simmons has picked up offers from Purdue, Auburn, West Alabama, and plenty of others.   Make sure you watch some of Simmons' tape below, he's a dominant pass catcher that everyone in the 3A should watch out for.       <h2 class="wp-block-heading">2A</h2>    [player_tooltip player_id='1752410' first='Alec' last='Spann'] is a talented WR out of Abbeville who really impressed us with his junior season last fall, making him our selection in the 2A.   "Spann is a shifty wideout who kills defenses with his speed and acceleration. It's incredibly easy for Spann to separate from defenders in the open field- once the ball is in his hands, good luck catching up and stopping him.   Spann also has some great skills after the catch. He's elusive, can make defenders miss, and has impressive contact balance he uses to stay on his feet and rack up as many yards as he can. Spann has a really well-rounded skill set- I think he'll be a huge piece of Abbeville's passing attack this fall."   Last fall, Spann hauled in 25 receptions for 570 yards and 4 TDs.   Make sure you check out some of Spann's junior film, he's set up for a big season this upcoming fall:     <h2 class="wp-block-heading">1A</h2>    [player_tooltip player_id='1584845' first='Kyle' last='Boice'] is a talented prospect out of Billingsley who dominated the 1A all last season, making him our All-State selection once again.   "Boice has a strong set of hands that help him make some super impressive catches- he does a great job fighting through coverage and contact to bring in the ball all over the field. Boice also has great field vision- he does a great job following his blocks to maximize his yardage on every catch.   It's really impressive watching what Boice was able to accomplish on both sides of the ball, he's been a huge asset for Billingsley and proved it in his junior year this fall."   Last fall, Boice hauled in 53 receptions for 1120 yards and 10 TDs on the year.   Make sure you watch out for Boice this fall. He's an electric prospect with a huge year ahead.
