Recruiting Report (8/4)- Newest Commitments Across the State

We're back with a new Recruiting Report!   Today, we're diving into some of the recent top commitments across the state! 'You won't want to miss out on this group, they have BRIGHT futures ahead!   As always, check out their tape below- these guys have put together some awesome film for us to watch!    [player_tooltip player_id='676572' first='Anthony' last='Jones'] is a dominant EDGE out of Saint Paul Episcopal who surprised many across the state with his commitment last week.   “Jones is a highly athletic EDGE who plays with a ton of speed and aggression down by the line of scrimmage. Jones can do everything his coaches ask of him- he's a terrific pass rusher, can set the edge, attack the run, and is always around the ball making plays.   Jones plays with unreal effort- he doesn't give up on plays, is great in pursuit, and consistently finds ways to disrupt offenses throughout all four quarters as a pass rusher and run defender. It's going to be really exciting watching him in his senior year this fall; he's a special talent.“   Last week, Jones announced he'd committed to Oregon! I can't wait to watch Jones this fall and at the next level, he's a talented defender with a bright future ahead.   Make sure you give Jones a watch below; talent like this doesn't come by often.      [player_tooltip player_id='1653251' first='Dashaun' last='Pope'] is a talented DL out of Hillcrest who dropped some big news regarding his recruitment last week.   "Pope is explosive off the snap and has violent hands he uses to get past offensive linemen and into the backfield to come up with big stops. Pope is an effective pass rusher who generates tons of pressure and brings down the quarterback, but is even more unstoppable against the run.   Pope is a dominant run defender- he completely blows up the line of scrimmage, fights off blockers, and brings down the ball carrier on almost every rushing play. It's seriously impressive watching the power and leverage Pope plays with- he bullies offensive linemen and puts them on their heels to come up with huge stops in the trenches on a routine basis."   Last week, Pope announced he'd committed to North Alabama! I won't be surprised to watch him ball out this coming season; he's a dominant DL prospect primed for a big senior season.   Pope put together some impressive tape last fall, make sure you watch some of his tape below:      [player_tooltip player_id='1626458' first='Cornealius' last='Hudson'] is a lockdown DB from Woodlawn that has really impressed us this offseason.   “Hudson is highly athletic- at 6'1 160, he has prototypical size at CB and plays with a ton of speed and instincts out in coverage. Hudson is terrific at using his size and hands to his advantage, frequently wearing down WRs and breaking underneath passes to force PBUs and INTs.   It's really impressive seeing how versatile Hudson is in coverage. He can line up and produce in press man, off the line of scrimmage, and in zone against a wide variety of WRs. Hudson is just as productive as a run defender; he consistently flies downhill to pursue and take down the ball carrier, regardless of where he lined up pre-snap.“   Last Saturday, Hudson announced he'd committed to Samford! I believe Hudson is one of the more slept-on players across the state- Samford has to be thrilled that they're adding him to their roster.   Do yourself a favor and watch some of Hudson's tape, you'll see what I mean:      [player_tooltip player_id='1604807' first='Tristin' last='Blackmon'] is an electric RB out of Prattville who made a big announcement yesterday.   At 6'2 205, Blackmon is physical, plays with a ton of speed, and has a well-rounded skill set he uses to dominate defenses. Blackmon is quick, has great vision, and has breakaway speed in the open field that allows him to break off massive plays on the ground, sometimes going completely untouched by defenders. Blackmon also has great contact balance- he can withstand hits really well and plays through defenders to gain every possible yard each carry.   Last fall, Blackmon totaled 115 carries for 695 yards and 8 TDs on the ground, and 9 receptions for 86 yards and one TD through the air.   Yesterday, Blackmon committed to Bowling Green! I think he's making a fantastic decision. As an RB, there might not be a better HC for him to play for than Eddie George.   Watch out for Blackmon this fall- I think he's set up for a huge senior season. In the meantime, check out some of his film below:      [player_tooltip player_id='1752495' first='Ami' last='Moala'], a highly recruited DL prospect, just recently transferred to Thompson and dropped some big news.   "At 6'4 290, Moala has all the physical traits you want in a DL. He's huge, has unreal strength and power, and is a force in the trenches who can blow up the LOS every single snap.   I'm seriously impressed with Moala's skill against the run. He gains so much penetration at the line of scrimmage and doesn't allow for the ball carrier to find any yards in his direction. It'll be fun watching him this fall."   Last Friday, Moala decided to commit to North Carolina! I'm really excited to see what he does at Thompson this season; he's a dominant DL with a ton of impressive traits.
