is an electric WR out of Southside who’s maintaining his spot as our top WR in the 3A.
“Simmons is a quick wide receiver who gains tons of separation from his route-running. It’s really impressive watching Simmons play as an underclassman- he already has a strong understanding of defenses and what he needs to do to take advantage of them.
Simmons also has a great set of hands that enable him to consistently make catches, regardless of his position on the field. He can get open easily and is a constant threat to secondaries no matter what route he runs.“
Last fall, Simmons hauled in a ridiculous 106 receptions for 2192 yards and 20 TDs for Southside’s passing attack.
I’ve been seriously impressed with how Simmons has performed these last two years. He’s a talented young player with another huge year on the horizon. Be sure to check out some of his film below:

Despite currently leading the state in receiving yards, Simmons remains one of the most underrated wideouts in Alabama As a certified human highlight reel, Simmons simply makes plays others can’t. One-handed grabs, 50/50 posters, explosive runs after the catch were all on the menu this week.
His body control and adjustment skills are elite, allowing him to high-point the ball against tight coverage or toe tap on the sideline effectively. Simmons turned in a stellar all around performance in a 22-15 victory against Thomasville. The standout wide out pulled out an assortment of tools to help lead his team to victory. With one of the more impressive plays of the weekend Simmons snagged a screen with one hand and instantly juked a man out his shoes – showing an elite ability to create additional yards after the catch. While being slippery in the open field Simmons posses solid vision. Simmons is also a bit stronger than his frame suggest. Allowing him to break through arm tackles.
