Film Study: 2027 Catholic League WR’s

For this series we will be looking at 5 players in each position throughout the next three cycles. On a stacked Chaminade roster, he was brought up to varsity as a Sophomore proving his talents.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>Genovese mainly saw snaps in the slot, where he dominated opposing defenders with screens and sitting in zones. The Catholic AAA star has solid hands with good route running ability, making catches across the field look easy. Following a reception on a screen pass, he demonstrates his 4.6 Speed and takes off down the sideline. His IQ is also elite as he cuts in and out of the field waiting for blocks on every play. He has solid hands and despite a lean build showcases good strength and making contested catches as he absorbs contact and pops back up. </p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>Chiesi is one of my favorite 2027 prospects. Like Chiesi, Larocca is also a receiver with Hands Of Gold in the state of NY. </p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>On film, Larocca displays elite body control. He can jump up and make 50/50 catches look easy and come down with possession through contact and have toe touch sideline grabs. He is a fierce competitor and plays aggressive during 1v1 reps. He is a strong pass catcher who can take a hit and bounce of tacklers for big gains.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>The Xavierian Sophomore will be a top target for Senior QB Terrance Watson. The Holy Trinity pass catcher falls on the leaner side and can look to gain good weight to improve his frame. </p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>This past season, Rink was buried in depth behind 2025 WR's Chase Cruz, and Jayden Simpson. Despite the depth, Rink made his presence known. The Sophomore shared snaps at both WR and CB where he put up an impressive film tape. The Iona Prep pass catcher falls on the leaner side and can look to gain good weight to improve his frame. </p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>Iona Prep is the most talented team and has the most depth at every position in the state. Despite this, the 2027 pass catcher managed to show out in limited reps. He excels as a YAC player who is elusive and can turn small catches in to 20+ yard gains. He has solid speed but outstanding acceleration making him a threat in RPO/Screen plays.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>Cassidy is a potential breakout star hiding on the states most talented roster.
