Our series continues where I am digging into the Triad Area players in the state of North Carolina to spotlight before the season starts. Previously, I focused on the Charlotte Metro Area in a series earlier this year, and my colleague Will Helms dug into the Raleigh area in a similar fashion earlier this year as well. The Triad in North Carolina will feature schools centered near the cities of Winston-Salem and Greensboro for full clarity.

This article will feature some Triad Wide Receivers & Tight Ends worth keeping an eye on this upcoming season. There is definitely room for new stars to move up from Junior Varsity or transfer in from different schools; however, our article will focus on players returning after playing Varsity football for their teams last season.

The talented tight end has blown up and received a ton of offers over the past couple of months before committing to Rutgers University on June 3rd. DJ played a big role in helping the Whirlies win a state championship last season, and he has a big future as a 3 down player who excels both as a blocker and a vertical threat down the seam, winning with speed against linebackers and using his height and strength well to win against safeties in the slot and in the middle of the field.

The Oregon commit has not slowed down at all this off-season, competing in basketball tournaments and putting in work on the court in May, and most recently working with his teammates on the field in 7 on 7 competition on college campuses in tournaments. Kendre looks as athletic and dominant as ever, and figures to help out some on defense as well this upcoming season as Reidsville hopes to bounce back from a rare earlier exit from the state playoffs last year.

The talented pass catcher recently committed to play college football at NC State, so congratulations to Jaire and the Wolfpack! Catching passes last season from Bryce Baker, Jaire is one of the most complete receivers in the state. His height allows him to win jump balls in single coverage against corners, and Jaire shows strong hands consistently to pull in tough catches against man coverage. Jaire is also a talented basketball player, highlighting his overall athleticism.

The talented pass-catcher from the state champion Whirlies recently committed to play for Charlotte and new coach Tim Albin, giving the 49ers a talented player to kick off their 2026 recruiting class. With 953 receiving yards and 11 touchdowns last season, Kaden is shaping up to have an even bigger season statistically with Grimsley having one of the best quarterbacks in the nation returning and everyone in the state gunning for them. Kaden's speed, route running, and vertical abilities are all top notch and he has a special ability to rise up in clutch moments and get the job done consistently.

Ethan has had a strong off-season from a recruiting perspective. Offers from Gardner-Webb, Army, Marshall, Cornell, & Catawba have made Ethan a hot commodity. Ethan's size and speed make him a complete threat on the outside that teams have to gameplan for to slow down the War Eagles offensive attack. With new head coach Brian Hinson on board, I expect Ethan to get showcased in some creative ways offensively to take advantage of his overall talents.

Rakem is coming off of a strong productive season with 51 catches for 881 receiving yards and 11 total touches. Rakem is dangerous all over the field as a receiver, a runner, and a kick returner - his speed in open spaces is dangerous and I like how Rakem excels in different ways with the ball in his hands. Rakem was also named to the USA under 17 flag football team, a nice accolade reflective of his overall talents. I'm excited to see how Rakem follows up a strong year.

In looking at some film on Aaryn, I really like how he uses his speed to close the cushion on corners and does a great job in stacking them and then creating separation on deeper routes. Aaryn has picked up some well deserved offers this off-season, and he recently named his Top 5 schools, in no order: Toledo, Georgia Tech, Richmond, Campbell, and North Carolina Central. With new coach Antonio Hall coming over from Dudley, Aaryn should improve on a strong season last year where he produced over 800 receiving yards and was named All-Conference.

Jaiquan is coming off of a highly productive season - 49 catches for 783 yards and 13 touchdowns in total. Obviously, the first thing that stands out about Jaiquan's game is his height. Jaiquan does a great job of high pointing the ball in the redzone on fade routes. Jaiquan also does a nice job in the quick screen game and is very strong with the ball in his hands, running through weak tackle attempts on a routine basis. Jaiquan recently picked up his first offer from Catawba College.

We saw Greyson in person at the CFI Carolinas MEGA Showcase where he was named a top performer. He picked up an offer from Hampden-Sydney College after that camp, and he has been working hard at various camps, running a 4.5 second 40-yard dash time on a couple of occasions. Greyson's height and catch radius are major strengths of his game as a receiver. I really like Greyson's strong hands as well - he did a great job of pulling in multiple catches during 1 on 1 periods against tight man coverage when I saw him live. Greyson is lined up to have a big senior season with a talented quarterback throwing him the ball this upcoming season at Northern Guilford.

Coming off of a season with 658 receiving yards and 7 touchdowns, Jailyn has had a great off-season from a recruiting perspective. Jailyn has picked up offers from Liberty in late January, East Carolina, Temple, NC State, & Wake Forest. The last 4 offers all came in June, as Jailyn has been showing off some impressive speed at off-season camps on college campuses. Jailyn will have a chance to really breakout this season as the Titans look to continue to push the envelope offensively, spreading the ball around the field with an explosive offensive attack.
