Top Performers from the Battle at the Beach

<!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>Prep Redzone attended the Battle at the Beach passing tournament at Edison High in Huntington Beach this past Saturday.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>The event is the marquee passing tournament of the summer and some of the top programs in Southern California competed. Mission Viejo won the tournament for the second consecutive season despite missing some key players.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>As a disclaimer, I'd like to point out that I did not get to get a good look at every team that competed, so some players who performed very well may be omitted from this list. Stecker looks much more muscular than when I last saw him and had no problem going against high-profile defensive backs throughout the day. He has really good ball skills at the point of attack and has good short-area quickness. He did a great job spreading the ball around to different receivers and utilizing the entire field. Nobody was able to get separation on him in man coverage and his ball skills are excellent. He was too fast for a lot of linebackers to cover in the flats and too big for defensive backs.
