North Coast Section Top Passing Leaders Returning in 2026

He threw for 2,715 yards and 28 touchdowns while rushing for another 356 yards and 7 scores on the year. His ability to navigate the pocket and keep his eyes downfield and deliver on schedule throws stands out on film and he has great ball placement, touch over the top and can make accurate throws at all levels. He is very athletic and can buy time with his legs, throw on the run and drop the ball into a phone booth over the top on the deep ball. He passed for 2,500 yards and 23 touchdowns and did a impressive job navigating the offense and being in control in just his second prep year. Cantrell moves through his progressions quickly, can look off safeties with his eyes before delivering and throws a nice ball on intermediate and deeper throws with velocity and leading his receivers open over the top and throws a catchable ball. He throws a tight spiral, shows he can put air under his throws vertically and has escapability in the pocket while tough to take down in one on one situations. He can zip the ball around outside the hashes and is not afraid to fit it into tight windows with proper anticipation and timing. He is a very mobile pocket passer that can buy time with his legs, keeps his eyes downfield and can deliver on schedule throws with a tight spiral and throw anticipation across the middle or outside the hashes. Only a second year guy, he seems to have a good command of the offense and will only continue to improve his arms strength and tighten up his mechanics over the next to years. In 2025 in his first year with the reigns, he passed for 2,100 yards and 21 touchdowns while also doing some damage on the ground as well. He is a very mobile passer that can evade pressure, step up in the pocket and is hard to take down due to lower body strength and body control under pressure. Although still developing as a passer, he can get the ball out quick and on time and does a very nice job running the pro-style Salesian offense.
