Recruting Report (7/8)- Newest Commitments Across The State

As we head further into the offseason, the recruiting world only keeps moving.   Today, we are highlighting some of the top commitments across the state from last week! These guys have such bright futures ahead, so we're diving into where and what's next for them.   As always, check out their tape below- we have so much talent here in Alabama, you won't want to miss these prospects before they're off to the next level!    [player_tooltip player_id='1314932' first='DeShawn' last='Spencer'] is an explosive wide receiver out of Saraland who had a big development in his recruitment last week.   "Spencer has some fantastic speed and acceleration; he can easily outrun entire defenses and makes it look effortless. Paired with his speed, Spencer is extremely elusive- he frequently makes defenders miss in the open field and has a ton of different moves that allow him to break away for huge runs.   Spencer also plays with a lot of physicality- he doesn't shy away from contact, can withstand some big hits, and is a physical runner between the tackles."   Last Friday, Spencer committed to Duke! I've been seriously impressed with Spencer over the last few years; there's no doubt in my mind he'll find a way to produce for the Blue Devils early on in his career.   Check out some of Spencer's tape from last fall:      Andrevius "Junior" Smith is a dominant prospect out of Dale County who's been picking up attention this offseason.   "At 6'6 200, Smith is unbelievably athletic and can make huge plays on both sides of the ball with his speed, instincts, and vision. At WR, Smith is incredibly physical and dominates every DB he lines up against- he mosses defenders all around the field (especially in the red zone), consistently high-pointing and ripping the ball straight from their hands for huge gains.   Smith brings the same level of impact to Dale County's defense- he's incredibly productive both inside and off the edge. Smith is terrific at defending the run- he flies around the field, fills in rushing lanes, and fights off blocks to wrap up the ball carrier. Smith is equally as productive as a pass rusher- he does a great job using his size and length to beat OTs and get to the quarterback, generating tons of pressure and placing hits on the QB."   Last Saturday, Smith announced he'd committed to Jacksonville State! We are all going to have to watch out for him this fall- I loved what I saw in his tape earlier this year and think he has a big senior season ahead of him.   Check out some of Smith's film below:       [player_tooltip player_id='1622369' first='Khatori' last='Marion'] is a speedster WR out of Baker who's been picking up a lot of attention from the next level this offseason.   "Marion has great speed, body control, and an unreal set of hands, all of which help him make highlight reel catches all around the field. Marion plays with a ton of twitch and quickness, he gains tons of separation off his route running, can easily make defenders miss after the catch, and is just a shifty WR that can easily lose DBs downfield.   Marion's elusiveness is the real deal; he really reminds me of former Baker star WR Bryce Cain with how well he uses his speed and twitch to carve up defenses. It's also impressive seeing how versatile of a playmaker he is both on offense and special teams- if you get him the ball, he's going to find a way to make plays."   A week ago, Marion announced he'd committed to South Alabama! He'll be an instant contributor down in Mobile; make sure you keep track of him this fall and on at the next level.   Check out some of Marion's film below:      [player_tooltip player_id='928038' first='Keeyun' last='Chapman'] is a dominant WR out of Jackson who dropped some big news on us mid-last week.   "Chapman presents a matchup nightmare for defensive backs- he consistently uses his size to outmuscle opposing defensive backs to easily rip the ball out of the air for some impressive contested catches.   In addition to his size, Chapman has some seriously impressive speed he uses to stretch the field and make big plays through the air. He can attack multiple levels of the field with his quickness and route running, but is especially a threat over the top- it's really impressive seeing how versatile of a wide out he already is."   Last Thursday, Chapman announced he'd committed to North Carolina! This was especially cool to see- Keeyun and his brother are both now heading to Chapel Hill, and I'm sure they'll both have great success there.   Check out some of Chapman's film from last season:      [player_tooltip player_id='1603669' first='JJ' last='Bush'] is a dominant EDGE out of Theodore who has been highly recruited over the last few years.   “At 6'3 206, Bush plays with a ton of speed and pursuit to consistently hunt down the ball carrier almost every snap. It's impressive watching Bush go to work in the trenches. He has a great pairing of speed and power and can bully offensive linemen into the backfield to create huge stops. Bush also has a ton of value as a pass rusher- he has a ton of different moves he uses to get off the edge and pressure/takedown opposing quarterbacks.   What really stands out with Bush's tape is just how athletic he is at his size- he's incredibly fast and has even made some huge plays at RB and as a returner on special teams.“   Last week, Bush announced he'd committed to Arkansas! I'm a firm believer that Bush could go anywhere and produce at a high level, but with Arkansas's recent track record of developing EDGEs, he's set up for a huge career over the next few years.
