On Saturday, May 10th, 2025 I was welcomed back for the third year in a row to cover Coach Nick Pennisi‘s PSR Big Camp Series hosted at Monroe High School in Monroe, New Jersey. As I have come to expect, this event was packed with participation, loaded with talent, and ran extremely well.

Different than other events, Pennisi opted to have three different check-in times, based on position groupings. This afforded me the opportunity to get a closer look at many of the prospects in attendance. Below are just some of my notes on the position group mentioned in this article's title.

With size and an athletic frame college coaches salivate over, [player_tooltip player_id='1258509' first='Lazaro' last='Lima'] has plenty of potential in his physical gifts alone. Lima also has a picture-perfect state that is loaded with his butt up high. Two questions that I have around Lima is exactly how well he moves and whether he is an interior or exterior guy - I guess that will the a decision for his college coach... [player_tooltip player_id='1552682' first='Ziven' last='Lewis'] is clearly excited to play the game of football. I saw a few times that Lewis actually worked past the offensive lineman. At times he will need to corral that excitement and temptation in order to work back to the quarterback and play with a moving target. He is, however, strong enough to sling his matchup at the line around.

For [player_tooltip player_id='910857' first='Billy' last='Mumbower'], I was impressed with how he countered and continued. On the rep that I caught, despite a good get off Mumbower was thwarted. He kept working and got home after executing necessary counter-measures for a win... I need to call out safety precautions every time I see it. Built like a tank, [player_tooltip player_id='1614290' first='Malcolm' last='Louissaint'] already wins in many cases due to his pad level. However, the rep I saw of him, Louissaint barreled into an offensive lineman with his head down. This cannot happen. You must play this game with your eyes forward and see what is in front of you, otherwise, our game is not played safely and someone can get hurt.

Making the long trip up the turnpike, Kingsway's [player_tooltip player_id='1693309' first='Allen' last='Dim'] is a master at executing the cross-chop. I thought that Dim loaded up nicely to get as much downward momentum on that chop as he could, yet he must do something with it. Dim's chop was effective, yet he did not get past his matchup. Flip hips, club-combo, or swim - something stacked on this cross-chop would have helped him get home... I am unsure whether [player_tooltip player_id='1693310' first='Nikhai' last='Smith'] is a one-trick pony or the type of prospect who keeps going to the same move until the offense adjusts. Two reps in a row I watched Smith hit a diagonal swipe, get his hips through, and take the inside rush lane for an easy win. Why change until they can stop it? Smith also looked strong and explosive in his loaded stance.

[player_tooltip player_id='1693311' first='Chris' last='Owen'] out of Camden Catholic had a strong showing at this camp. During indy, I thought that Owen's hips were very good as he worked them around the bags. During the competition phase of things, he did a great job working his hands above eyes; however, Owen showed few other moves outside of the bull rush... [player_tooltip player_id='553585' first='Elijah' last='Ramirez'] also won a matchup with his hands above his eyes. This enabled the Union City prospect to walk defenders backwards with ease. I also noted that he won another rep with an outstanding inside swipe.

There is something about defensive linemen who keep coming and keep playing. Out of St. John Vianney, [player_tooltip player_id='1693320' first='Dillon' last='Fisk'] played with an outstanding motor. Fisk was able to work the spin move, but did not show many other moves outside of that... For such a young prospect, 2028 graduate [player_tooltip player_id='1290637' first='Jordan' last='Dales'] showed some promise when it comes to hip mobility. For someone his size (265lbs), Dales had more mobility and the natural ability to flip his hips than you would expect a rising sophomore of his size to have. Look for him to possible emerge as a solid interior pass rusher.
