. At guard, although he is upright and high, we see Ramirez pull very quickly and has a motor to finish through all his blocks. I also thought that he showcased quick feet on double/on/down blocks. Gap scheme seems to be his strength, as he avoids trap men with ease and climbs to the second level near-flawlessly. On defense I thought that Ramirez showcased a very good get off. This get off allows him to walk defenders backwards when they try to reach him, either setting an edge or pushing a bubble depending on where he plays. Additionally, we see moments where Ramirez flashes hand usage to disengage with offensive linemen. Yes, he may need more bend and flexibility; however, he has a motor, shows flashes of violence, and is well coached as he has adopted strong habits.

– Played for Matawan
A big body that has played against a ton of top talent around the country during his youth football career with Matawan. The Bayonne native has gotten away with just being bigger than most people up to this point, but may be turning the corder when it comes to being a more complete offensive lineman. I like him as an offensive tackle moving forward, if he can continue to improve overall athleticism.

The Matawan Huskies have a OL/DL force in 6’3 260 Ramirez. He is consistently involved on both sides of the ball making plays. The hustle and grit is undeniable when tracking down ball carriers from the backside or letting quarterbacks feel all his body weight when getting up off them after a sack. It seems Elijah is most comfortable playing down the middle of his opponents, whether than get cute and pick a side to go around. He has heavy bones with a good amount of meat layered on top so he’s built to last. Seems like coachable kid who just wants to get better.

Standing 6-foot-2 and 280-pounds, Ramirez is a big kid an passes the eye test right away. With obvious size and weight he’s one of those young Offensive Line prospects that carries his weight very well, meaning he doesn’t look like he weighs as much as he does. Being this big and this young, has some obvious coordination and footwork things to correct, but he has some great potential. Comes with a natural mean-streak, too.
