PRZNY Team Previews: Chaminade Flyers

After winning just one game in 2023, Chaminade collected 8 wins and made the AAA semi-finals. Miller was a huge reason for the Flyers dominance in the trenches during certain games last year. He is a big and bruising guard and is gaining deserved attention. Miller passes the look test, almost at 300 pounds but the way he moves is so impressive. He's excellent in space, has good feet and was one of the most consistent players for Chaminade a year ago. Last year the Flyers defense was incredible. They were terrific against some great AAA offenses, along with the seniors, Smith produced at a high level as a junior. He's a fast and twitchy player and proved that he could make big plays. He had 3 defensive touchdowns, 8 sacks and 5 pass deflections. He played as a tight end last year, the Flyers run two tight end sets frequently and Murray got a ton of reps. He brings a load of toughness to the field. Murray is a great rugby player, he gets physical and will be a key run blocker for the Flyers this season. In a smaller role last season, Genovese still produced and had some key catches down the stretch. He has great hands and showcased his elusiveness and yards after catch ability during his sophomore campaign. Just as a sophomore, Trapani wasn't the biggest player but he showed that he was a gamer. He was the third in tackles for one of the state's best defensive units last year. His explosiveness and nose for the ball jumps out to you right away. Trapani can race to the ball carrier and make some tough tackles against speedy or bigger players. Chaminade had an elite trio of wide receivers that took up a ton of targets and a successful run game. A natural thrower with a big arm, Carnevale brings a high ceiling as a pure passer.
