He is going into his 3rd season as the starting quarterback, and has improved each of his seasons. The biggest area of growth I have seen from his film is his accuracy. He throws into tight windows at a high level. He is also a good athlete who moves well inside and outside the pocket. He is excellent at after the catch by making defenders miss in space. He also has good speed, and he can take any catch and make it a bigger play. Smith is one of the best wide receivers on Go Balls, where he is able to outrun defenders and make difficult catches. He gets off the ball quicker than most edge defenders, and that allows him to get into the offensive backfield. He also has great strength, and that allows him to rip through offensive linemen trying to block him. He is also a good athlete who moves well, and that allows him to chase down plays all over the field. He played as both a linebacker and an edge defender. As a linebacker, he does an excellent job of reading the play and triggering downhill. He is also a good tackler who tackles in the open field well. Another big part of his game was his ability to blitz. When he blitzed from his linebacker position, he was able to attack offenses at a high level. He is equally as good when he is close to the line of scrimmage as he is when he plays as a deep safety. At both positions, he is an excellent run stopper. He reads the play well and makes good tackles in the open field. His ability to take proper angles is impressive because he rarely misses any tackles. Then, as a pass defender, he does a good job of breaking on the ball and creating separation. He is a good athlete who does a good job of pulling on run plays. He also did a good job of blocking out in front on wide receiver screen plays. He has excellent feet as well, which allows him to stay in front of edge defenders when he is pass blocking. Solomon recently picked up an offer from Bloomsburg. Looking at his film from last year on Junior Varsity you see a quarterback that has all the tools to eventually be a good varsity quarterback. The left hander has a good arm and delivers an excellent football. His accuracy is good and understands where he wants to throw the ball. His ability to hit the hole and make defenders miss is excellent. He also has a good burst and quickness to explode through the hole. Then when he gets into the open field he has the speed to take it to the end zone. Johnson also catches the ball well out of the backfield. He does a good job of reading and reacting to the play and then filling upfield to make the play. He did a good job of setting the edge and either forcing everything inside or making the tackle on the edge.
