I recently finished a series on some of the top players in the lower classifications, but amidst that series and our NCHSAA conference previews, we haven't had much coverage of other associations, namely the North Carolina Independent School Athletic Association (NCISAA).

Here, I'm going position-by-position to give readers an idea of which private school players to keep an eye out for this season. I hit the quarterbacks Wednesday, and the running backs later that week. Now it's time for the wide receivers. Here are the top NCISAA WRs to know.

We've only ranked a wide receiver as the best overall player in his class once in the last six cycles, but Clark may end up the second when things are all said and done in about two and a half years. His combination of size, speed, and ball skills make him a matchup nightmare and helped him finish second in the state in receiving among freshmen last season. We expect even more from him as a sophomore, despite a quarterback change and we're excited to see how he develops.

The highly-acclaimed Clemson commit has some of the best ball skills in the state and his late hands and body control at the catch point make it almost impossible for defenders to make plays with the ball in the air. He doesn't get enough credit for his speed and he's a candidate to play early for the Tigers.

There just aren't many receivers in the state who operate down the field as smoothly or easily as Rosen. A two-way player, he looks effortless when he plays, often bouncing off tacklers or chasing down offensive players without looking fatigued. I want to see him add some variety to his route tree as he's often a "screen or deep ball" player, but for now, the athleticism and ball skills play easily for Charlotte Christian.

Until recently, we had Ravin ranked as a defensive back rather than a receiver, but we're starting to think his best days are ahead of him on the offensive side of the ball. He's grown taller over the last two seasons and is a tough wideout, finishing third on the team in receptions and yards despite playing half of the year with a rib injury. He should step up again this year as a reliable chain-mover.

While he didn't have the level of production in 2024 that some of these other guys in this list did, Marshmon is the best candidate to take a big step forward in catches and yardage. Trinity Christian loses not one, but two 1,000-yard receivers, leaving a massive void on the outside. Marshmon has the hands, speed, and deep route-running abilities to have a huge junior season.
