Long Beach Poly Legends Invitational: Players to Watch

<!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>Eight teams will gather at Long Beach Poly Saturday for one of the last passing tournaments of summer before pads come on for training camp soon.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>Many of these teams have already competed at high-profile passing tournaments in the past few weeks.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>Here is a player to watch from each team in the event.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:heading --> <h2 class="wp-block-heading"><strong>POOL 1</strong></h2> <!-- /wp:heading --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p><strong>LONG BEACH POLY</strong></p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p><strong>Offense: </strong>[player_tooltip player_id='1655382' first='Deuce' last='Jefferson'], QB; Jefferson looked sharp at the Battle at the Beach tournament on Saturday. His release is smooth and the ball comes out of his hand nicely. He's a real good athlete who is better when the pads come on, but he has improved as a pocket passer.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p><strong>Defense: </strong>[player_tooltip player_id='1197222' first='Donte' last='Wright'], DB; Wright is a lengthy defensive back who ran a 10.85 in the 100 meters as a sophomore. He has plus arm strength for his age and a fairly quick release. Quinonez throws a great ball and has a ton of upside. </p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p><strong>Defense: </strong>[player_tooltip player_id='1000938' first='Chaz' last='Gilbreath'], DB; Gilbreath is a three-year starter for Mayfair and one of the top two-way players in the Long Beach area. He throws well on the run and has nice touch on the deeper throws. </p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p><strong>Defense: Drew Toki, LB; </strong>Toki led the team in tackles last season and is a big guy at 6-foot-2 and 225 pounds.
