Inglewood tight end Andre Nickerson Jr. Andre Nickerson Jr. 6'4" | 230 lbs | TE Inglewood | 2026 State CA announced his commitment to SMU on Tuesday.
Nickerson caught 36 passes for 665 yards with nine touchdowns for Inglewood last season after transferring from Serra.
He also had offers from Arizona State, San Diego State and Washington among others. Nickerson is the second player from California in SMU’s 2026 recruiting class.

Nickerson is a physically imposing tight end that has seen P4 offers roll in and remains one of the top uncommitted prospects at his position in California. He is extremely athletic for his size and a smooth route runner that is a big downfield target and has strong hands/runs extremely physical in open space, running through contact and driving his legs through tacklers. He shows natural ball skills when making contested catches, flashes high point abilities and can easily beat man coverage with both speed, body, positioning and strength. Nickerson has a rare combination of size and speed and is able to either be attached at the line or play in the slot and is a no-brainer Major D1 caliber prospect that remains uncommitted. He holds offers from Arizona, Arizona State, Washington and UNLV, among others.

Serra (Gardena) class of 2026 tight end Andre Nickerson Jr. Andre Nickerson Jr. 6'4" | 230 lbs | TE Inglewood | 2026 State CA was offered by Arizona State last Wednesday.
Nickerson was second on the team in receiving last season with 389 yards on 22 receptions with a pair of touchdowns.
Arizona State is the sixth school to offer Nickerson joining San Diego State and Washington State recently.

At 6’4” 220 lbs. Nickerson is a talented dual sport athlete (football/basketball) with a powerful and long frame. Has really good natural athleticism and coordination for his size and age. Basketball has allowed him to showcase his explosiveness, body control, and change of direction. Flashes high level short area acceleration to create separation as a route runner and leaping ability to go up and attack the ball at the catch point. Plus tracking and adjustment ability to the ball in the air. Strong frame to absorb contact and maintain forward momentum when he turns into a ball carrier. UNLV was his first offer in March and has since added Washington and Colorado State with more on the way.
