announced his commitment to Stanford on July 4.
Howard had 70 tackles, 15 for a loss, 12 sacks and a forced fumble for Inglewood last season. He was a top performer at the All-22 camp and the Under Armour Next camp.
He also had offers from San Diego State, UNLV and Colorado State among others. Howard is the fifth player from California in Stanford’s 2026 recruiting class and the fourth edge rusher.

Howard had a case for MVP at the All-22 camp in March and had another strong showing on Sunday. He flashed the elite athleticism and speed that he showed at previous camps but added some power moves on Sunday. He does a good job getting that inside arm extended on the offensive lineman and throwing a quick move after gaining leverage.

Howard was next in line competing for MVP and made it a tough call for camp officials. He was explosive off the ball and was too fast for a lot of the offensive linemen. Sometimes if he gets beat initially, he has trouble battling his way out of a jam, but the speed is there and he does have a good club move.

Howard checks into our defensive line rankings just outside the top ten at his position, and is a very twitchy edge rusher with active hands, good bend around the edge and an explosive first step. Howard holds two offers from both Washington State and Syracuse, and should see a slew of others come his way in the coming months.
Heading into 2024 for a loaded Inglewood roster with a much improved defensive front, this will be one of the more active groups in the Southern Section. Look for Howard to possibly be atop the sack leader rankings at the end of the season and collect post-season accolades as well.
