The first three weeks of film for juniors and uncommitted seniors is massive for athletes here in WI and across the country. It is an up to date look at these developing difference makers and a chance for coaches to see the strides each kid has made over the offseason. Seeing those big leaps year to year verifies to coaches that their best football is ahead of them and the potential for each athlete may be even higher than they originally believed. It is becoming more and more common to see offers start to pick up around the time those three week film collections start publishing. With this being WI you can expect all eyes to be on the OL recruits, so that is where we are going to turn our attention. To the OL who just might be able to earn their first offer with fresh tape.

When watching Gage play in the trenches you have a lot of positive words run through your mind. Big, strong, violent. The 6'5" 315 lbs junior already looks the part of a high-end OL. The left tackle is loaded up with power in that frame and it is power that shines in the run game of course, but also the pass game. When he snaps into his pass set, Gage is able to set a strong anchor. Even when and edge gets his hands inside they can't get the big OT off balance. Gage is able to then easily stay in front of the edge and run them past the QB. Then in the run game that power gets to go on the attack. He can drop his pads and does well getting hands on quickly and the power within them toss defenders around. I can't wait to see the fresh tape coming from this kid.

For our next standout OL we only have to switch to the other side of the offensive line. Right tackle [player_tooltip player_id='1227023' first='Peyton' last='Schuster'] has a long frame that is well on its way when it comes to filling out. The big man has a really good quick set into his pass pro. He is ready to absorb power from pass rushers and also strike with his hands. Peyton is nimble on his feet for being such a big OL, getting depth in pass pro, and also getting lateral or up to level two in the run game. Peyton is a technician with an elite frame. The fresh tape should get plenty of people excited.

Jamail is new to my radar, but at 6'7" 300 lbs you don't have to question anything when it comes to size and reach/length. He will be a key piece on the Wisconsin Lutheran OL this season. Jamail has spent the offseason experiencing things starting to pick up with a visit to WI as well as participating in one of the Badgers camps. He has also been visited at school by Eastern Michigan this past spring. Those first few weeks of film for Jamail is going to change everything. There isn't a ton to go off of now, so getting some fresh action in front of coaches should earn him even more attention.

The athlete that I believe could be the biggest breakout candidate is [player_tooltip player_id='1620170' first='Sam' last='Cheever']. He will be entering his first season at Arrowhead after moving here from Minnesota. Sam brings a lot of exciting tools. A 6'7" 285 lbs frame has him looking like a future D1 recruit. Watching him live in the spring quickly increased my excitement for his first year in WI too. His footwork and short area mobility looked more improved and comfortable since his sophomore year, telling me he is growing into his frame. The rising 2027 doesn't struggle with creating power from that massive frame either. He entered the offseason as an impressive, raw athlete. Now we wait and see how he enters the 2025 season. I will be keeping a close eye on him and any tape.

Carter is very easily in the running for best IOL in this Class. He has a fantastic frame for the position and it is loaded up with the power needed to set his anchor and lock down the interior of the OL. His QB can trust that he will have room to step up, and Germantown RBs can expect to see holes open up as the line of scrimmage is reset downfield. Carter is so explosive in short areas too. He can get to DTs and take them on alone or double team up to an LB. Gordon was big, strong, and agile as a sophomore. So I'm anticipating a very impressive start to his junior season.

It will be a change of scenery for OL [player_tooltip player_id='1226880' first='David' last='Provost']. In 2024 he was a key piece for the D1 State Champions. In 2025 he will block for one of the most prolific offenses that will be back on the field in WI. He is going to bring grit and toughness to an OL that will be looking to fill some holes and maintain its high level of play from 2024. David should fit well into he pass heavy offense. He is a nimble IOL, and that should help him to stay square in front of his lineman. That range will also help open things up when WDP leans on their stable of RBs. Keep an eye out for David.

Brady is another intriguing athlete. Obviously he is undersized at 235 lbs, but that can be built on at the next level and over the coming year plus while he is still in HS. Brady brings excellent mobility and athleticism. He can mirror pass rushers and react quickly to counters. That athleticism also shines as he flies off the line at 100 mph in the run game. Brady plays with a surprising level of violence when he gets his hands on his opponents too, making his potential with a more filled out frame even higher. The raw tools are there and he is starting to become refined in several areas. I have a feeling we see a big jump this fall.
