Rarely headliners for the high school football team, Barton may just be that this and next season for Washington. One of the most well-known specialists in the state of Iowa going into the season, Barton made a field goal of 48 yards last season, was 18-of-23 on PATs, registered 28 touchbacks on 33 kickoffs and averaged 40 yards per punt on 37 punts last season.

Barton has received interest from Iowa and Wyoming as of recently, and his recruitment will grow as he gets closer to graduation.

One of the more tenacious DL upfront for Washington, Blackhurst shows the ability to be violent with his hands. With a grip and rip move as a pass-rusher, he has the potential to terrorize opposing quarterbacks and offenses this coming fall, and he could earn himself a roster spot at the next level. His frame of 6'2" and 225 pounds is an excellent place to start for college coaches, too.

A hole plugger on the defensive line, Davis (or "Big Willie" as his coaches and teammates call him), will be a solid one-tech defensive tackle for the Warriors this season. A quite big man, Davis isn't a gentle giant. The OL/DL combo didn't take any reps off last week, playing scout team offense and first team defense for the entirety of the Warriors' hour-long install session, and he made things difficult for the offense to run much. He'll find his fits and stop opponents' ground game this fall.

A slot receiver with strong hands, don't be surprise if Iranzi leads the Warriors in receiving during his junior campaign. A speedy wideout that can turn a short pass into a big play, the 5'9", 155-pound slot will be near the top of opposing teams' scouting reports this season.

A classic quarterback-safety combo in the state of Iowa, McGuire returns after leading the Warriors under center the last two seasons. An improved passer that wasn't as turnover prone as a junior, McGuire will once again look to improve statistically through the air this fall. He also led Washington in rushing attempts, yards and touchdowns last season, taking 80 carries for 513 yards and seven scores.

At free safety, McGuire will serve as the last line of defense to prevent big plays for the Warriors this fall. He'll play on the backend of the University of Sioux Falls' defense at the college level.

Certainly the most vocal player for the Warriors, Montgomery looked as though he had to fight back to the urge to hit somebody on every 11-on-11 defensive install rep last week. A walking ball of aggression, Montgomery will be one of the leading tacklers for Washington, and he'll look to make some big plays on the defensive side of the ball like he did last season. In 2024, Montgomery finished third on the team in sacks (4.5) and fifth in tackles-for-loss (6.5). He's the leading returner in both categories going into this season.

Montgomery will once again contribute offensively both through the air and on the ground, as he contributed 102 yards and a touchdown rushing and 15 catches for 134 yards and a score last season.

A linebacker/running back combo like Montgomery, Riley is another major contributor returning next season for the Warriors.

More of a shifty running back than Montgomery -- but a hard hitter nonetheless -- Riley took 70 carries for 332 yards and a touchdown as a tailback last season. Defensively, he's the top tackler returning from last year after posting 27.5 tackles, three sacks and 6.5 tackles-for-loss.

Riley will be counted on to increase his production dramatically this coming season. He's not the vocal presence that Montgomery is, but the pair will be vital to the success of Washington on both sides of the ball in 2025.

A tall, long receiver that shows the ability to be a "go up and get it" guy, Tiah led Washington in receiving until he went down with an ACL injury part way through the season last year. He posted nine catches for 206 yards and two scores on the outside for the Warriors.

He can also help at corner and safety as a rangy DB with length, as he posted 23.5 tackles, a fumble recover and a pick last season.
