2028 Rankings Update- Alabama's New Top 5 Prospects

WELCOME BACK!   We've got a brand new 2028 Rankings Update to debut! To kick things off, we're watching our Top 5 prospects in the class!   As always, make sure you watch their tape below! You won't want to miss out on this kind of star talent!    [player_tooltip player_id='1205371' first='Demarcus' last='Brown'] is an extremely talented DL/EDGE prospect out of Williamson who's now our #1 player in the state.   “Brown is a star in the making. He has great size and plays with tons of speed, leverage, and strength to work around offensive linemen and create huge stops in the backfield. Brown is an every-down threat who dominates the run and can rush the passer really well.   Brown is extremely disruptive. He explodes off the snap, can fight off multiple blockers, and has the motor to make some incredible hustle plays. His pursuit and closing speed are super impressive to watch- it's super difficult for offensive lines to contain him.“   Brown ended his freshman season with 90 total tackles (46 solo, 29 for loss), 10 sacks, 20 hurries, 3 fumble recoveries, and one INT.   Only heading into his sophomore year, Brown has picked up offers from Texas A&M, Baylor, and several other top-tier P4 programs. [player_tooltip player_id='1634478' first='Keoni' last='Snipes'] is a dominant EDGE out of Saraland who's been making huge strides this offseason.   “At 6'5 230, Snipes already has impressive size and athleticism he uses to dominate the line of scrimmage. Snipes explodes off the snap and plays with great leverage, quickness, and pursuit to create huge stops all over the field- it's hard to believe he's only a freshman.   Snipes has already proven to be a dominant run defender. He's terrific at setting the edge and can fight off multiple blockers to get his hands on the ball carrier and create some impressive hustle plays all over the backfield.”   Snipes has had a massive offseason in the recruiting world, picking up several offers from schools like South Alabama, Tulane, Liberty, and plenty more.   Everyone needs to watch out for Snipes this fall- he's an extremely talented EDGE with massive potential for Saraland's defense over the next few years.     [player_tooltip player_id='1621006' first='Dedrick' last='Kimbrough'] is an extremely talented WR out of Thompson who's been picking up a ton of attention this offseason.   "Kimbrough is a complete WR with an incredible skill set as an underclassman- he has great size, electric speed, and an incredibly reliable set of hands he uses to make highlight-reel catches all over the field.   I'm really impressed with Kimbrough's route running and body control- he gains tons of separation at every level of the field and can haul in ridiculous catches through coverage/contact. Any ball is catchable for a guy like Kimbrough- he has a terrific catch radius, great body control, and strong hands he uses to secure passes in some impressive ways."   Kimbrough was terrific and made some huge plays last season, ending his freshman year with 22 receptions for 390 yards and 3 touchdowns.   With how well he's played, Kimbrough has picked up offers from Alabama, Miami, and several other top-tier P4 programs this offseason.   Make sure you watch some of his tape below- he'll be on everyone's radar going forward.      [player_tooltip player_id='1354216' first='Kingston' last='Preyear'] is our #1 QB in the class- what he did at Montgomery Catholic last fall was extremely impressive to see.   "Preyear has unreal arm talent and can place the ball anywhere on the field- he has a strong arm, can throw with a lot of touch and accuracy, and hits his targets perfectly in stride downfield. Preyear is also terrific at navigating the pocket- he's elusive and doesn't let pressure get to him, can extend plays and make throws on the run, and is great at avoiding sacks.   Another impressive part of Preyear's game is his mobility- he can create huge plays with his legs. On tape, he frequently carved up defenses for big gains off of zone reads and just by scrambling, he's a seriously dynamic QB who can truly beat you in every way."   Preyear had a terrific first season at Montgomery Catholic, winning a state championship and recording 94/135 passing attempts for 1787 yards and 20 TDs and only 2 INTs.   With how well he's played, Preyear has picked up offers from Troy, Ole Miss, Houston, and more.   Watch out for Preyear this fall, he's set up for a ton of success at Benjamin Russell and has the potential to lead one of the best passing attacks in the state.      [player_tooltip player_id='1650166' first='Lee' last='Steele'] is a seriously impressive TE/WR out of Orange Beach who really caught our eye in the last few weeks.   "At 6'6 205, Steele has the speed, hands, and YAC ability to dominate defenses in so many ways. His routes are precise, he gains tons of separation off of DBs, and he's a hard runner after the catch who requires multiple defenders to take him down.   There's a LOT to love about Steele's potential as a pass catcher- he's a dynamic player with the ball who's going to dominate the next few years, just watch."   A few weeks back, Steele picked up football offers from both Alabama and Auburn! With his talent, he'll only keep adding more- it's going to be exciting to watch.   I'm seriously excited to watch Steele and this Orange Beach team this fall- they're both set up for great success over the next few years.
