I wasn't with the linebacker group a ton at the 6/9 SDSU Prospect camp, but one of the few linebackers that caught my attention was Gering (NE) 2026 Bo Gable. He passed the eye test with flying colors and was very fluid in watching him lateral movement and brought the downhill suddenness to get down to the ball quickly. He also was a linebacker it didn't take long to tell that he plays with a high motor in the all the reps I watched from him in Brookings. The eye catching testing numbers were there too for Bo, as he a ran 4.5 40 yard dash at 6'0 nearly 200 pounds, and also went 9'5 in the broad jump showing off that explosiveness I saw throughout the day. Linebacker looks like his best fit, but the quick tape I saw shows off how much of a Swiss army knife this kid appears to be. Bo has a couple RMAC and NSIC offers which would fit the bill fit wise with what I saw on tape in my eyes.

Another linebacker that caught my eyes in Brookings hailed from the state of Iowa, which was 2026 linebacker and top 50 prospect [player_tooltip player_id='1241518' first='Dylan' last='Weisskopf'] of Williamsburg. The 5'11 210 pounder, showed off a well-versed first step in watching his reps at South Dakota State as I could tell early that this young man attacks with physicality and extra pep in his step once he reaches to the point of attack. I could tell after playing DE mostly as a junior, that Dylan seemed to have more force in his hands getting off his blocks at a quicker rate of speed in what I watched a couple weeks back. Surprisely, Dylan only has just one NAIA offer thus far although I feel he is just getting started when it comes down to offers to play at the next-level.

Our DB1 in the 2027 class in the state of Iowa, showed out at the SDSU prospect camp on 6/9 at linebacker with imposing size off the eye test as Kyson's testing numbers impressed me a bunch. The 6'2 203 pounder from Sioux City East, busted off a 4.71 (twice) in the 40 yard dash, 4.44 in the pro agility and nearly a 9 foot broad jump as well. The versatility Kason shows at the linebacker spot intrigues me as he shows that he has flexibility at a few different linebacker spots in my eyes. Kason showed off in Brookings that when he gets downhill he moves with a physically intent presence and it shows with his pursuit angles as a run-stopping linebacker. One 2027 that surely has plenty of well instincts, vision and certainly defensive position flexibility.

The two 2026 South Dakota defensive backs that caught my attention both hailed from powerhouse Brandon Valley, as we start with the live eval I got on our DB3 [player_tooltip player_id='1239664' first='Nolan' last='Pudwill']. The 5'11 175 pounder, was super explosive in the broad jump with double 9'6s and I saw growth with Nolan's change of direction too with an eye catching 4.18 in the pro agility. Nolan continues to show off why I love his ball-tracking ability as he showed it off well in the reps I watched in Brookings as Nolan plays with all the finesse you want in your secondary. He has finally picked up steam with four offers since early May as one that I feel the NSIC schools will have a fun recruiting battle out of once it's all said and done.

The other 2026 defensive back from Brandon Valley, that I already know I need to move up ASAP up our 2026 South Dakota rankings, is [player_tooltip player_id='1544709' first='Chase' last='Leary'] who also had himself a sound showing at the 6/9 SDSU prospect camp. The nearly 6'1 190 pounder, had some impressive testing numbers in Brookings, going 9'4 twice in the broad jump showing off his explosion, and a 4.66 with his 40-yard dash. It was just in testing that Chase caught my attention either, as Chase's range and football IQ has risen since the last eval I got on him during the season as I love the presence around the ball this young man plays. He is up to seven offers since the month of May, with a bunch of NSIC offers and one Pioneer League and is swiftly a stockriser this camp season. Twitter

A Minnesota 2026 I was stoked to get my first live eval on at the SDSU 6/9 prospect camp was Kasson-Mantorville's Jeremiah Peterson-Gordon. The 5'10 190+ pounder from the Komets, ran consistently two 4.6s in the 40 yard dash, 4.44 in the pro agility and well-versed explosives in the broad jump were seen with a 9'4 in Brookings. Jeremiah might not be the biggest corner out there, but the frame is well put together for his size and he showed at SDSU that he knows how to utilize his physical presence and has the twitch college coaches should want athletically in my eyes. Jeremiah is quite under the radar right now, with just one D2 offer.
